CF Moto V3 right side crankcase
Hello, I found some debris in my oil screen (flat, metallic, very small pieces) so I pulled the crankcase cover and found a lot more at the bottom. It appears to be the remains of a baffle between the magneto and flywheel.
can anyone confirm this?
And if the magneto is covered in oil, does that mean it's useless?
Thanks-Rich

If the flywheel has been hitting something , probably the crankshaft outer bearing has failed so check that for any movement. Possibly it has also hit the stator so examine the outer surface of the stator. Good job finding the debri in the screen , you have probably caught it before major destruction occurred.

Ok, i'll check for crankshaft movement, and related.
Any thoughts on what broke apart? It seems like a metallic gasket or oil baffle. I can't find any replacement parts for it and an wondering if it's absolutely necessary. (Like to maintain oil pressure?)

Re: CF Moto V3 right side crankcase
The 'baffle' is actually part of the gasket. The screw is really a pin or dowel. Must have come loose and wrecked the gasket, creating all the debris.
Now I just have to figure out where it came from...
