A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
Please bear in mind this review is "just" a "visual" and should not be taken that the new V-Storm is a bad bike?.
I got a WeChat message from the local dealer saying we have the new V-Storm in.
With great expectation, I hurry down to the shop to see what all the fuss is about.
As I approach the shop the Wee is sitting outside in all her glory.
Dam that looks good I said to myself.
The V-Storm was designed and manufactured in China, with the view to sell to the domestic market.
I would imagine there have plans to export the bike as well?
On a careful inspection of the bike, these are items I was not too keen on.
Once again these points are just "MY" opinion and not a review on how the bike run, handle or with the performance.
You need to own one for that with seat time, to which in my case will never happen.
LIST......
1. Original 2 sides and top box are double lined so the internal space is very much resicted.
Was unable to fit a full face helmet in either the side or top box.
2. Headlights are very poor with the brightness.
3. The space between the dash and either side of the head bearing is very exposed and IMO you could get a lot of road dirt and wind.
Also, I notice an important electronic item fitted in this space which may be to exposed IMO.
4. Handel bars are not a Tapered style which IMO will bend with the first fall.
5. WTF is that gear level see the picture, not seen that on the big brother before.
6. The side boxes frames are not that strong and I could see potential problems here.
So there you have it "MY LIST"
Looks can be deceiving and this is the case with the 250cc V-Storm.
It is clear to me aspects of the bikes build and design are "CHINESE" and if the bike is exported then I believe most western markets will question the Design & Build.
Other members may consider these point to be of no importance when buying, well good luck and I hope you enjoy your new V-Storm.

Re: A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
Good information and well busted bubble. The world is full on unofficial advertisements of bikes, what biker bros need is critical exposures of bikes so that they can make educated choices on what bike to buy :deal:
That gear lever, eeeew, never seen anything like it :frump: So very disappointed also of the headlight :gun_bandana: Gimped sidebag racks is definitely no go :gaah:
Good job checking the bike

The headlights to be fair you need to check them out of a night, but on switching the lights on it appears to not be to great IMO

I am sure if you have a longer look maybe more items of sub-standard will come to light?
And at a price of nearly 30,000 RMB None ABS and nearly 32.000 RMB with ABS, it's not a cheap bike IMO
And with a weight of 206 KG it's no light weight

Re: A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
Quite heavy bike for what it is, 250 cm². Crap is ok or even fine if it shows on the price of the bike. Anyway, time to look forward for next designs rolling out of endless China Bike Factories :))
Re: A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
Hi Moilami
Crap is not a word I would have used, more like disappointed come more to mind than crap.
I expected more from Suzuki with the DL250, but only time will tell once the bike hits the overseas market.
But then again did we really expect too much from a bike MADE IN CHINA.?
Re: A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
Well, Chinese make hell lot of high tech stuff, they surely could make a quality bike, but maybe they don't make because markets would not accept it anyway.
Re: A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
One question arises: which bike look like better offer - this "Stromello" or "Zong" RX3?
Re: A Visual review on the 250cc V-Storm
I have another question: how DL250 is better than JH600?
c'mon,
price is comparable: 30k for non ABS Suzuki VS 33k for non ABS JH600
JH600 is few kg lighter, have 19" and 17" aluminum spoke wheels, higher seat position, more powerful engine, toothy footpegs and normal gear lever...
what am I missing about DL250? side and top boxes?
few years ago someone on MCM said that JH600 isn't popular in China because of it's high price. now I could argue that.

It's probably not better, just different. 10 years later and they haven't done anything to the JH600.
