Lifan engine in Hensim 250?
I just bought a Baja Phoenix 250 which is a Hensim 250CR. The engine stickers say 253FMM. Is this engine made by Lifan then sold to Hensim for installation in their motorcycles, or does Hensim make the engine?
Here's a link to the engine on the Lifan site:

Here's the Hensim motorcycle;

History lesson
Jinlun bought engine from 立峰(Regal Raptor). In past "Jialing" had close releation w/ 立峰. (JL bikes used had ~70% parts made by 立峰 in past)
JL ha a "jv" w/Honda that produce honda bike , so their JL only brand had learn the "right thing" (the "parts" supplier also learn the right tech :clap:)
the former Lifan is "重庆轰达车辆配件研究所" (Hongda- smell something fishy?) which reverse engineering the "real thing" & sued by "Honda".
Re: Lifan engine in Hensim 250?
It's all too complicated for us non-Chinese motorcycle riders.
Evidently it's a rubber stamp copy of a Honda Rebel 250 engine, at least internally. I guess that's the best way for the Chinese manufacturers to get into production, copy something that works. Certainly nothing wrong with that if they can get away with it.
To me the 250cc feels less powerful than my 200cc Lifan. Might be because it's not yet broken in.
