Dear Fourstroke,
Welcome to the forum, and I think you'll find quite a few folks in this forum with the same bike in your neck of the woods. Lots of expertise here for bringing ailing Chinabikes back to health.
What do you surmise is wrong with the bike? If you'd like help give us some details, and some pix -- especially of things you suspect might be at fault.
You got a great deal if the beast will run!
cheers
Hey thanks for the quick replies guys, I have some pics but only the ones from Ebay.

So far the guy has told me that he suspects it to be electrical gremlins at work stopping the bike from starting, he has no mechanical knowledge so could be anything. He has tested the bikes compression and it's apparantly getting petrol. I'm a dab handy with many things petrol or electric so I thought I'd have a dabble at sorting it. And if not, I can spare or repair the bike back on Ebay.
Thanks :)
Bike looks to be in excellent shape, no signs of trauma or abuse. Just work your way through the various circuits to make sure all is connecting correctly. Loose connections, blown fuses, shorts in frayed wires, etc.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
That bike is going to be a blast to ride.
cheers
I'm actually in love with supermotos so I'm definitely going to be enjoying hooning around on this. I shall be going through all the various wires and fuses etc. I'm sure it'll be running within the hour. It says it's done only 500 miles but I think it's probably a few more. It was registered in 2008 and has been owned by a teenager so I'm not going to be viewing it through rose tinted glasses. It'll need some fettling I'm sure.
Thanks for the replies :D
Five hundred clicks in three years??? In other words, driven not by a teenager but by a little old lady to church on Sundays. What a find -- unless the little old lady was winding back the odometer on the sly. But that bike does look like one that's seen little action.
Great find!
The engine looks to be in pristine condition from the pics, so it may have only done a lowly 500 miles. In which case it's brand new and only have slight cosmetic blemishes. Ill post more pics when I pick it up.
Thanks for the replies :D
hmmm 500 miles only just run in make sure it sounds alright with no knockinh when she is purring again i suspect the teenager might not of been careful at all and just ragged her about
hey man another UK rider is always nice all uk riders should meet up at sum point would be ace and a big win. nice find on the bike b4 u rip and wires out give em all a push or clean connectors one at a time so u know what goes where and make sure ur battery has juice cos dead batterys can mean no runing unfortunatly most bikes rely on that sort of thing
