Not A China Bike
Bought a new to me 2001 Kawasaki W650 the other day. It only has 2025 miles so she is in like new condition. I've had two of these W650s in the past and had been looking for a nice one for quite a while and finally found one. Although it is only a 650 it sure seems heavy, big, and powerful after fooling with sub 250cc bikes for a while.

Heading up to the Dragon in a few minutes to give her a work out.

Re: Not A China Bike
Beautiful classic twin! Fantastic! Was this a Craigslist find? I'm visiting California right now and it's astonishing how many fantastic bikes are being flogged out here. Hard times means a buyer's market. If that's the original rubber, you might think about a new set of tires. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up during today's ride. Be careful on the dragon on old rubber...
Only 2k miles?? Was this ridden by a little old lady to church on Sundays?
cheers!

Re: Not A China Bike
Great find Barnone! Congratulations. Very, very nice!
I really like the W650s. Did a little tour on one in Egypt (of all places!) and fell in love with it. They are definitely on my personal short-list for a fun road bike.
Found one in Beijing earlier this year, but it was illegally imported, of course. While I was sitting on my thumb, trying to decide, someone else snapped it up. Sigh.
Have fun taming the dragon!

Vince that is a pretty bike man. Good luck with it, she's barely broken in. Remindsme of a 68 BSA lightning

Re: Not A China Bike
That is a cool bike and good find, I wish that Kawasaki would bring the Estrella to the USA, it’s the little brother to that model.

Re: Not A China Bike
MJH,
Too bad about the lack of simple air cooled single cylinder 250cc Japanese street bikes in the US. There is the Suzuki TU250X, Yamaha XT250, and the Kawasaki Super Sherpa. Lack of sales of the excellent TU250X for example will keep the neat bikes like the Estrella out of the US.
