Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
looks like a bitsa.
bista this and bitsa that - tacked together from the parts bin... like many so called manufacturers that buy off the shelf parts then assemble putting on their own badges... you are game buying a nondescript 3 wheeler likely copied (poorly if experience of all things China are a good measure) from Piaggio, good luck with that... you might need it. There was a Chinese manufacturer which was at the motorcycle trade show in Italy, whose 3 wheeler display model was seized by Italian police and prosecutors as infringement and alleged violation of Piaggio's 3 wheel patent. You might find that your scoot is made by the same company perhaps? Does the bike lean or stay upright when cornering?
Though I couldn't help notice the irony with the skip bin directly behind your scoot in the background... might take two to lift the bitsa for those purposes. None of those bikes inside China that I'm aware of, perhaps made only for some offshore markets. Not sure that might mean for after sales, which generally speaking is not one of the strong points of Chinese manufacturers in China or abroad. hope yours goes well.
LoL
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Oh jees, thanks alot for the sunshiney friendly reply, are you always this optomistic and give such a warm welcome to all the new arrivals to this site,oh wait I got this figured out,you are one of those self labled brilliant guys that know everything and doesn't mind telling anyone who will listen and finds it hard to say anything nice about anyone elses stuff but your own. Yeah that's my first impression of you,but it don't bother me because, let's see, that's just the way you roll right?
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Oh yeah I left out something.......lol
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Hi daddue,,,I for one think it looks quite a handy machine,,I see loads of Peugeot scoooters,,,they do nothing for me,,, yours seems a much longer design, whats the fit and finsh like??? The doc was abit harsh I thought,(probaly got out of bed the wrong side) all the best lipsee
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Thank you Lipsee,I love the bike very much, but, they really could have spent alot more time and planning when it comes to fit and finish,Most of the bike is tight except fo the rear trunks and the front fenders. The seat is soooo comfy and the placement of switches and hand controls are spot on. This bike is made strictly for the pavement not dirt roads, It handles the dirt roads very well up to about 35mph but if you hit a deep pothole or a narrow dip in the dirt road then most likely you've already thrown the front end out of alignment. It has more than enough power and speed for any city driving and secondary highways. The tiny windshiel is
useless for keeping wind off of the driver,so I ordered a custom made one that attatchs to the handle bars. The BRAKES are the very best that I've ever seen on a bike and stop on a dime without locking up. You know I didn't buy my bike because it was popular or had tons of info about it out there,I got it because it was really different and There weren't any others around where I live. Sure it's gonna have bugs that neede worked out and it won't ever have the power like the big harely trikes ,BUT, THAT'S exactly what I want. Let's face it around here people look at china scooter riders like they are stupid loser freaks period,so, it seems very odd to me that anyone on this site would make hurtful comments about chinese bikes, because the public already think that chinos are JUNK,so I don't want to put up with it on here. Thanks for sweet respectful people like Lipsee. daddue11-Steve.
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Hi Steve,,, I can see you are still in the first flush of ownership with your scoot ( I love this bike) hahahah, just wait till you catch a dose of China bike blues..,as you describe it the fit and finish seems fairly typical of chinese machines of that type.As long as the mechanicals are running sweet you are laughing.Did you pay much???? I must admit its not my type of machine,I like the look of big maxi scooters, thats 250 and above,,,but I do,nt want to pay alot...anyway got to run ,,,,Phil
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Hey Steve, welcome to the site.
No need to take my comments about your scoot so personally. It was not intended that way at all. My comments were about the scoot itself. You might want to go re-read it. I do hope you get many long hours and kilometres on the scoot, trouble free. Realistically since there are none of those scoots being ridden on the streets of China to my knowledge that would suggest that there might be issues with after sales, should you have any issues moving forward. Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are notorious when it comes to any form of after sales follow up. Generally speaking once they've cash in hand, the purchaser is often on their own to a certain degree. This is my experience and I've been dealing with the Chinese motorcycling industry for more than a decade though there are others on this site that have been involved for much longer. I acknowledge that things are changing, however in my experience most of the Chinese manufacturers are about gaining maximum profits in as shorter term as possible, without any real commitment to building any form of brand loyalty with good after market or after sales service. Long term strategies and SWOT analysis don't figure into business planning.
Again welcome to MCM.
Re: Scootist from Mountain View, Missouri USA.
Yeah,You're both right,Lipsee...You are right about the flush with ownership,It was only in the last week or so that I started seeing things that weren't quite right or could have been quite a bit more quality put into all of it.
bikerdoc,
Wait a minute,I know I opologized, but ,You know what,FORGET ABOUT THAT CRRRAAAP,I'm an enthusiastic new comer to this place all FLUSH with the pride of my new SCOOT,yeah, you're dammed right. AND if you people even feel half as proud you wouldn't be posting SHIT to a newbie like you have. BUILD UP NOT put down. THIS is the weakest excuse for a welcome greeting I have ever read. I'll never come back to this site again, this post will probably be deleted by a mod,but it needs to be shown so y'all don't greet like this again, maybe have the new posts went over by the mods or something. Now,All of you old guys or I should say EXPERTS go ahead and chime in,with RUDE rude stuff. I imagine how many members you all have lost like this before??????
