Yorkshire Born Chinese bike owner
Hi
My name is Gareth, 45 and the owner of a Zongshen ZS250GS. This is a present from my partner, some say she is trying to bump me off, but I still have a way to go before I can ride it. The bike has been stood for 2 years so a service is due. What will be the best oil and plugs to get and are there any other things I should pay attention too ?
Re: Yorkshire Born Chinese bike owner
Maybe err sell it and buy a Honda CBF125 or something, as sad to say these kind of Chinese bikes don't make sense i the UK, as the hourly cost of a mechanic in the UK is prohibitive, Chinese bikes suit developing countries and home mechanics. If however you know your spanners, or want to learn, then go for it!
I'd put mineral motorcycle specific oil in it, maybe 10W40, although if the current level is OK do a few miles and hot change the old oil. Pull the old plug give it a clean and check the gap, also charge the battery or change it and check the tyre pressures and make sure the airbox and air-filter is clean.
Re: Yorkshire Born Chinese bike owner
There is probably some members on china riders that would offer some basic knowledge on that bike.

Zongs engine is Yamaha TW 200 derived, so maintenance should not be a problem. As I see it, the rest of the bike is "common", so any generic advice about maintaining would help you.
