Off-road tires

Now that I have my Shineray X2 with 17" supermotard setup, and are in the process of getting rims (not the originals though) for the enduro setup I've started to look around for off-road tires. I think these tires come with the original setup that Shineray delivers, can anyone comment on them?

I've dug up some info from "ChinaV's Galaxy XTR250 & TGR!" thread. Which recommends the "Kings Tire KT-966" and the "Kenda K280", the latter I don't manage to find on taobao!

I'd be happy to hear any other (affordable) recommendations regarding this type of tires. Hopefully our guru ChinaV can chime in on this, and has some new unrevealed information!
