New rider in Tianjin
Hi,
my name is Gorka and I will be in Tianjin area for some time.
I already got a driving license back in SH and now Im looking of a decent and legal ride. The problema is I like those CB400 which most seem to be unplated (just saw one today riding past my electrical moped)
If anyone in Tianjin or Beijing is Reading this this and can give me some advice where to get some wheels, I would really appreciate!
Regards,
Gorka Mugarra.

Welcome Gorka!
Sorry to say, but I don't think the CB400 is a legal bike in China. Tianjin has a reputation for having one of the largest motorcycle markets for illegal bikes in Northern China. You need to be careful, if you want to be legal.
To become familiar with the northern motorcycle markets/prices, you can try looking through the online ads on 58.com and Weifengtang.

Re: New rider in Tianjin
thanks for the welcome and the advice.
Being the CB 400 not an option for a legal ride, I am now looking at the CFM 650 NK. But damn, its difficult even to get the adress of a dealer!
Does anybody out there have any dealers´adress in Tianjin?
Any riders in Tianjin who have gone through the registration process and can enlighten me or, ebven better, introduce me to one of those "agents"?
Thanks a lot!
Gorka.

:lol8:
Well, I am just going to guess ...
but I think Tianjin (TJ) is a dry city, so TJ riders hop the train to Beijing, buy the bike at one of the dealers here, and put a Beijing B plate on it, registered in a company name. There is a large CFMoto dealer next to a subway station in Beijing - quite convenient to get to. And it is in the South East of Beijing, next to an expressway back to Tianjin.
If you decide to do that, let me know and I can probably help you with ensuring you get the correct paperwork, insurance, etc. I know the shop owner, so even if I can't make it, I can call him and let him know you are coming.
Also, if you want to buy used, I think there are a few B-plated CF650s for sale in Beijing.

Re: New rider in Tianjin
I don't know if I'm right about this but at some point there were lots legal big bikes in Tianjin after the rest of China had become dry of big bikes in the late 90's and eventually Tianjin was forced to go to the dark side about 5 years later. When I was first in China 2002-2004 all the legal big bikes I saw were legal Tianjin registered.
