Western helmets and insane replacement visor prices
I've been using a Tanked helmet for the last few years with my 250. Cheap to buy at only around 200 or so yuan, light enough, quiet enough and comfortable enough and even better 30 yuan a replacement visor.
I've been assessing buying a new helmet, and seems a worthwhile investment as I have a faster more powerful bike these days. I can afford a new helmet but I've noticed the prices of replacement visors are bonkers. In the UK visors for western branded helmets for example Shoei cost 35-45 pounds, which is 380-500 yuan. Seems like this is another case of 'bubble jet printer ink' Anyone got any 'life hacks' for this? What do you do?
Personally I like clear visors with absolutely no scratches.
Re: Western helmets and insane replacement visor prices
Maybe try shopping online at one of the major USA outlets? Many now ship to China, and the stuff I have bought sails through customs. A visor would be easy to ship.

LJH, it's not the availability, it's the cost, I'm well aware I can buy visors online. If a Tanked helmet visor costs 30rmb, I find it very hard to imagine how the manufacturing costs of an Arai visor are anything close to the $48.95-$89.95 rrp.

Arai @ $48.95-$89.95 does seem a bit excessive. Perhaps those 30 RMB shields don't offer the same quality optics, UV protection, and impact resistance? :confused1:
Cheers!

Sure maybe less impact protection and UV. However it's just the same shit as why an official printer ink cartridge costs more than the weight of gold. They got you by the balls.
