Pulse adrenaline main jet
Hi all,
I have recently bough a 105 main jet which I got because I have a Yoshimura end can on it and it pops alot!! In replace of the 95 get that was previously in it. Would I need to get a different pilot jet as well or can than stay the same? thanks
And does anyone know how to stop this popping if I wasn't to get a bigger main jet?
Also I have bought a 42mm air filter for it too.
Thanks TgL
Re: Pulse adrenaline main jet
A bigger main jet is pretty essential if you have a cone filter and a performance exhaust since your engine will be running very lean (not enough fuel) which reduces power, causes the engine to run hotter and is probably causing the exhaust popping.
You probably don't need a bigger pilot as you can adjust the idle air-to-fuel ratio with the screw on the bottom of the carb, this screw is a pain to access because there is very little room to fit a tool in there, a bent hacksaw blade or a very short screw driver works. The way I adjust this is I set the idle speed to 2000 (with the screw on the right side of the carb), adjust the idle mixture screw to get the best idle speed (counter-clockwise makes it richer, clockwise makes it leaner), turn it clockwise 1/4 turn then adjust the idle speed back to 1500.
