got a really weak spark so that's all I can put it down to
where would be the best place to get one in AUS?

had a look but can't see anything for the Kinlon would one off a different bike fit ?
Does it have part number printed on it? For sure it's not non-standard. Check it it's AC or DC (most probably it's the former), and then check your connector, e.g. 4 pin, round one.

got a hold of a mates multi meter it's all good but that means more then likely new a set of rings now

Older bike's EXT (source coil) often F***ed. Most chinese street mechanic just install a UNIVERSAL DC CDi http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=38711768895 (Extra wire = +12V | Connects that wire to (+) source that are turned OFF as the key s/w position, otherwise it will drains the battery flat ) as quick fix.
