Bike still starts when turned off by key.
Hi guys,
My bike has had some battery dramas. I was wondering if it could be due to the key not fully turning the bike off. I turn the ignition all the way to the left and then turn the key so it faces up. Then the switch can't be turned. This is from what I understand off... I can then go and flick the starter switch to on and the efi kicks in and I can start.
Could this be causing the battery troubles? And why would the ignition switch be doing this?
Thanks

The off position of the key is such that you can take it out.
Unless someone has fiddled with the wiring and it's always on. If that's the case, then, yes, there should be some constant current drainage from the battery.

can you pull the key out in the "off" position and still be able to start it? If so, the wiring has to be messed up...you should not be able to start a bike with no key in it!
