china bobber talk

hello i love hardtail/bobbers specially more affordable one's but sadly there's no available bobbers here (i'm from manila philippines) so the only way is to chop what we got or import and deal with the registrations in a hardway. :lol8:
want to post some pics of bobbers manufactured. feel free to post/add if you have any opnions, ideas, experience of these bobbers.

1.) pag - barhog (regal raptor, leonart)
pros - more powerful engine, long wheelbase
cons - the cooler on the downtube is less likely for bobbers, footpegs are harder to reach for shorter rider and most expensive on the group

2.) ccw - the heist
pros - good manufacturer/sales track record, several bolt-on parts and accessories
cons - lack of optional springer or girder front end to complete the accessories department

3.) dong fang - df250rtb
pros - gooseneck frame with nice seat
cons - plastic faux oil can, a mustang or sportster style gas tank will looks better (my opinion)

pros - old school, hand shift, springer front end, extremely fun to customize

Hardknock now has a 250cc v-twin version. Frame was stretched 4" and 16" wheels fitted.

ok here's update and pics of the hk2 with larger frame and 16" wheels other improvements are rise battery box, higher cantle seat helps not sliding your butt, bungee cord on the faux oil tank covers (prevent falling off), internal throttle, black nickel forks, steering lock and more optional parts/accessories like sissy bars, tailights, seats.......but still no 250cc v-twin only 50, 125 and 200.

yes you can import hardknock but expect the price will be double or more from shipping and taxes and they will not directly ship internationally you must find your own agent/forwarder both from u.s.a. and locally.
i've been building knocks several years already it's a pretty nice kit but it will not work if not built properly, it will be much better with some modifications that's why i don't sell kits specially here (you know), a have a few units left here but already built meticulously ground-up from rolling chassis, customize, painted, chromed, powder coated, registered etc....... for more info pls. visit www.jerscycles.blogspot.com thanks.

UPDATE - anyone here from the philippines i just found out that the barhog (regal raptor) was already available here, i went to their showroom as soon as i notice, it's pretty nice but just the footpeg a little far to reach for shorter asian size. it retails @ 250,000pesos the one and only complete factory manufactured/assembled bobber currently available here. wow at last.

back and forth to china atleast twice a year, yup i already saw that news but based on my experience many sellers from china was selling products that they don't even have. they love to get pictures from others then posting it for sale, try seach alibaba some companies have a pic of a one-off customize motorcycle from other people then claiming that they manufactured it and already have several units built.
next month i will be back in china panyu same area where gap asia located i will try to contact mr.du let's see if he has the actual heist on hand so we can verify this issue. if ever i will take pics for proof.

i just got back from "guangzhou china" and confirmed that the gap company and mr. du are a scam, i called the company when i was in guangzhou and they don't manufacture motorcycles and no mr. du exist on the company. hahaha.

here's an update on hardknocks, the new hk3
fully assembled, it is street legal with DOT approved lights, tires, mirrors etc, I comes with the speedo, turn signals, sissy bar and license plate bracket already installed. The springer option will be the same as it is now. It is sold separately.
HK-3 is designed from the get go to accept multiple engine options (49, 125, 200, 250). Everything has been standardized, including the internal wiring and the frame. To convert engines all you have to do is swap out the engine mounts and a few components in the electrical cylinder. It's plug and play!

thats a hardknock Kelly kikker, there's still some debate whether the bike is street legal or meant for off road use. Some states have pulled the registrations but others will allow them as a custom garage built. I think they can be regged in NV.

The HardKnock is a kit you build yourself comes in 4 boxes and you assemble the unit. Comes in 100cc all the way to a 200cc and there are only a handful 250cc V-Twin units that I have seen on the kikker forums

Uh, oh. I didn't realize that the Hard Knock is actually a Kikker. There are a few of those in Vegas(Registered) but each of the owners I have met are trying to sell them to get Heists...
