Hi
I put an iridium plug in my bike today and had an immediate improvement in power! Very nice.... I was advised cmcpo it does no damage. All good!
My question is can I run higher octane fuels now like 97+ octane with no damage to piston or valves etc? Will it leave bad carbon deposits in the engine after a while or will the iridium plug cover that? Any help will be appreciated. Cheers
You can run higher octane if you want but all it will do is cost you money ! You won't get any extra performance unless you tune the engine to take advantage of the higher octane - ie higher compression and more ignition advance .

Hi I put in a ngk dr8eix or something. Just ask your local guys for the ngk iridium version of the ngkr dr8e. And I woud say use super unleaded. I am and its made a big difference. Just a suggestion. Iv kinda been told not to but to be honest I half filled the tank with super unleaded and its made a difference. So next time as in tomorrow im putting a tank of 97 octane in. :)

I think its a different engine in that one mate. Look into it.....
from the same shop and all the parts from my pulse fit it so it might be not sure ill ask them 2moz when i pick her up ^^

hello, yes im all healed up, yes ive been payed out and yes i have a new bike, i will post pictures of my bike tomorrow as only got it today and its been raining allllll day :L but its a very smooth bike verry happy :D

using higher octane fuel all the time makes the engine run better but it will seem allot more sluggish when the time comes when theres no option but to use the standard octane fuel since the engine would have become more acustom to burning higher octane fuels but its suggested that you fill up once with higher octane fuel every 4th or 5th tank of fuel with higher octane fuel that way it cleans up the internals much better being easier to combust

steve thats a nice bike i was tempted by one when i was choosing between a sinnis apache and a ajs 125 SM/Lexmoto sm 125 iv heard the seat is pretty firm but the jianshe built yamaha engine is allot smoother than the suzuki engine which part of the UK are you would like to see one of those in person

aha iv heard of it never been due to the distance only been towards that part of the UK once a few years back i mainly stick to the east anglia, london, birmingham oxford way, do you have any mod ideas for your lexmoto?
yeah, possiable barkbashers/ handgaurds, yoshimura end can/muffler, rim tape thats about it really :L
i nearly had my knee down earlyer was like an inch or two away :L Good times gotta love roundabouts ahaha

aha true that in the wet my sava's being supermoto race tyres and made for spainish racing arent grippy in the wet so its constant drifting on quarter throttle, cant wait till wednesday so that i can properly rip my bike since its going in for tis fres service valve clearance check and full deristriction.
one thing i was considering when looking at one of those was fitting a YBR or XT 125 6 speed box for better top end cruising and the carburetta that rieju use to get 15bhp out of that air cooled engine the mikuni VM20 but that proved unfruitfulo trying to find one online
are you sure the yam gear box will fit, i had both of them 125s during the 2 months i did not have my own bike ( hire bikes :L)
they are sooo smooth and very nice to ride :)

yh it should fit might need a proper yamaha clutch casing, compare your engine to a YBr engine its the same casts used apart from your being made by license by jianshe and yamaha's official being either made in brazil or italy
Attachment 4499Attachment 4500only thing missing is a kick starter on the Lexmoto. i have heard of someone swapping out the engine of a XT125 into a AJS JSM125 the same bike due to the conrod snapping so the quality might not be quite the same but tbf if you keep it good during the run in period should have a problem if you want any details on yamaha engines im your man for them
not gunna lie the xt i had was that same colour and it was slow as fuck :L went 62 down hill and no higher :S

can always change the gearing iv been told by some woman who works at hein gericke who has a Rieju RS2 125 with the YBR air cooled engine but with a bigger carb that it can do a good 80 in the summer and abit more in the colder air temperatures but that does have fairings but comes to show how much better top speed gearing is im tempted to change the front sprocket on my marathon pro to a YZf R125 15 tooth to get abit more topspeed iv seen my bike on youtube when at full power doing 130kmh or 80mph

technically the superbyke RMR 125 isnt restricted but you can get the baffles removed from the exhaust to allow a free flowing exhaust but this does cost some man hour to do other than buying a new exhaust silencer. the CDI is something you can get performance ones for but that just unlimits abit more revs to you
what cdi would you recomend? and how much?
im not to sure what CDI is best since i dont have a sinnis,pulse or superbyke theres a few forums around tlking about them just depends on what you can find.
Xian racing used to sell one but they went bust a while back might be abit hard to find one of those CDI's now.
but iv heard of kamikaze Pro race CDI unit around the threads abit giving a better trottle responce and raises the rev limiter

if u use ebay take a look on there for 125 - 150 cc yoshimura exhausts :) i like that one :L
