Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
You might want to consider beginning with a thread titled “Dongfang RTC 250 Sport Bike“
Take a picture of the engine stamp and the carburetor as well, the gauges etc.
Maybe a video of it running posted on You Tube?
You can also add tags for html when you create a thread, then others can find it not only on the website but on the search engines as well.
It is a decent looking bike, let people know how it holds up for you over time. My suggestion would be periodic posting (updates) with each 500km or so.
I am sure others are looking at the bike and also looking for real people that own one.

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
yea I would like to do that and create a long forum as barone did about the rtb to be able to discuss with all other rtc owners, in college now doing finals so in whatever free time I have I will make sure to make a post about this bike
-
Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
You can add as many as five html tags, that is how the search engines perform searchs, they do it on key words. The html tags take precedence, for example: Dongfang,SX-R,250,DF250RTC,review. That would drive people that are interested to your thread.
-
Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
yea will do that, will be a nice long thread with many descriptions and many photos, only thing I dont like is that I cannot add any photos with my posts using the insert image button due to they are too large, but photobucket is no problem for me
-
Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
You may want to resize your images that you post as well, photo bucket has that feature. 640*400 fits nice into threads.

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
I see a scroll bar on the images you posted, they are 1,023px × 574px, what is good about Photobucket the pro version which only cost like 29.00 a year, you can re-size without loosing clarity. You may be able to re-size with the free version…I cannot remember I upgraded last year.

Dear Matt,
You could also ask the moderators to just retitle this thread "Dongfang RTC 250 Sport Bike", and you are off to the races...
Great looking bike, by the way. Looking forward to seeing her in the wild, and reading how she treats you (and other buyers).
cheers!

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
And if some smart-ass comes up, sees the SX-R and asks, "Is that some kinda Gixxer?", you can say, "No, it's SeXieR than a Gixxer."
:jerkoff:

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
hahahah bro too funny, nice meeting you, I never even know what to say to most people when they ask what type of bike it is, I say it is a dongfang and they just give me the wildest stare so I just stop answering their questions lol, but I am going to just start a new thread, it will be a lot clearer and nicer, thanks for the info though!

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
Oh, and I can only imagine how folks are going to try to pronounce Dongfang. Here's what you say: "It's pronounced dohng-fahng, you dumbass. It's Chinese, and it means 'the east'. You know, China, a big country where they speak Chinese. And here's how you write it. 东方 if you are in mainland China or 東方 in Taiwan and Hong Kong." And write it down for them.
Then side-stand up, clutch out and roll.
cheers

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
Lmaoo, and keep on rolling until a 600 or 1000 pulls up to me, then just try and completely ignore them

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
cant wait to post the new thread, this weekend I have to do a 250 mile trip from orlando to miami, and I just recently broke in the engine fully according to the manual, but I feel this trip will truly test the bike, all will be on new thread coming soon

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
Zhǐshì dōngfāng
只是东方
Then when asked; what does it say you reply Zhǐshì dōngfāng...just dongfang.
or you could have Zhǐshì yīgè dōngfāng
只是一个东方 just a dongfang or 廉价的东方 which is pronounced as Liánjià de dōngfāng as in "cheap oriental"

Re: Hello, new member, riding the d250rtc
We should launch a new thread called "Mangled motorcycle Mandarin for foreigners"!
