Re: Open Track Day events for Motorcycles at the F1 Circuit
I still should look if you can remove the cases.
I guess they must be bolted up somewhere, right?
I understand they will allow you on the track, still they create a lot of turbulance at higher speeds, and I am really not sure how your bike will handle that.
Perhaps not worth trying :-))
For the helmet, have a look in the mirror, look at your chin, and imagine how it will look like after a nasty flat face fall ... then you know if you should go out and buy an other one. By the way, this counts for street riding too ...
I guess there will be several heading out to the track on Tuesday morning, just join from Minhang.

I hear ya 998S, however I am not looking to put in "Hot laps" I just would like to test the bike in a safe, controlled enviroment. The bike is still in the breakin period, so I will not be pushing too hard. Removing the cases invalidates the test runs as I am looking to see how the handling is at higher speeds. I want to test braking, cornering and high speed stability. I think that these kinds of tests are best done when not dodging traffic and where the conditions are repeatable.
As for the helmet, Nolan claims that they are all DOT approved as well as the following for the N43 Air:
"•GE Lexan® chinbar is EPS lined; mounted with b stainless-steel latches, it passes the test for full-face helmets of the European standard ECE-2205."
That being said, nothing can replace the integrity of a one peice design. You have just made the lady at Dragon Rider very happy :icon10:
I need to be there early for the new rider meeting at 9:00am so I will have to leave early then 8:45. YOu can't miss me at the track i be the only one with Luggage:eek2:
Re: Open Track Day events for Motorcycles at the F1 Circuit
looks like we ll get rain on monday and tuesday :(
Re: Open Track Day events for Motorcycles at the F1 Circuit
Well so far the weather report has been off by a big margin so I would still dust of the old racing leathers because it a good chance that the ran won't come!
Can anyone tell me what the protocol is for bring a non riding guest with a car?
Re: Open Track Day events for Motorcycles at the F1 Circuit
Wunderground.com, which I in general consider as pretty accuate, give 80% rain for Monday night, changing into 40% for Tuesday during the day.
Not too good. Guess it comes down to tuesday morning, to see how it is.
If you come by car, just enter through the front side of the track, tell them you come for the track day and basically they will let you in.
You can then drive all the way to the back side of the pits, and find the garage we are in.

Message from our organiser:
Due tomorrow's weather is 90% possible to be raining, we have to tell everyone to cancel our event for your safety.
