Re: Loncin 重庆隆鑫机车有限公司 LX650 ???
Is this BMW-powered Loncin 650 a mirage?
It seems to pop up once a year, then disappear from view.
I see it was at CIMAMotor in Chongqing last month: http://www.kiwiridernews.com/2013/11...rom-china.html
As for the CZ and Jawa two-strokes, they were excellent bikes for riding in rural China. Nice loping torquey engines, better suspension than most other bikes available in China in the 1980s and '90s and comfortable seats. You could tour on those bikes.

No by all accounts the Loncin LX650 or 650LX is not a mirage. What it seems to be anecdotally at least is not very popular with the PRC riding community. Although that might just be perception given there is not as much chatter on the PRC motorcycle forums when compared to the likes of the Benelli/Qjian 650 or CFMoto 650's. The Loncin 650 is though represented in the forums etc... some examples below.

Re: Loncin 重庆隆鑫机车有限公司 LX650 ???
From what I've read about the LX650 on Chinese forums, it's a complete lemon with numerous engine and electrical problems and I have a sneaking suspicion that part of the reason for that is because the bike cannot be exported due to a contractual agreement with BMW.

All these Chinese companies suddenly go all slapdash and lethargic (more than normal) when making a bike for their domestic market. Weird, for Triumph the British market is as or not more important than any other. Local customer loyalty can save an ailing company from financial ruin when times get tough.

Ah yeah, but you're using logic, and that's a mistake since this country is a logic free zone save for most of the imported talent...
