Now on to why I logged on. I got an email from Sunny about what I'll refer to as the Second Generation Bubba. I'm sorry I can't copy and paste the photos but I'm sure they'll show up on the web site once the old inventory is gone.
Major changes I can spot:
-Black Springer Front end
-Black (10"ish) Z-bar handlebars
-Fuel tank appears to be more of a Sportster shape - Nice
-A proper solo seat, smooth upholstered black vinyl
-Upgraded brakes F&R (no details given)
Wholesale cost has gone up so expect the street price to be a few hundred $$$ more that last Summer's price.
/M
[EDIT: I just noticed that there is no front fender on the springer. That may cause some legality issues in some areas.]
Yes I am buying the new one and hope some of the flaws that was in the 2010 model has been tweeked! I am looking more forward to getting on the bobber than my Harley, go figure! I'm getting the matte black.

What do you mean. It's only runs on 12v that's my emergency jumpers. Until I can get a smaller set of connectors . I had that stuff laying around. So I made use of it. I hook it up to my 2004 vw passat. As of now it works.

If an idiot finds a 2 male ended extension cord and plugs it into my bike. I'm gonna be kicking some @$$.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Nv Bob : As I figured and stated in a earlier post about the carb getting too much air, I bet the improvement is because the new filter you put on restricts the air just enough to improve the mixture. Like the Red too.
Bet the Harley guys neck still hurts... hey I have a Harley/LOL

Course I had to take it for a spin just to take advantage of those cylinder break in strokes. Got the new carb filter and I know you think a little thing like that won't make a difference but being the optomist that I am the thing made a great difference. Just looking inside it you know you got a big lean down. More power, less pop and more thump, just great. Was kind of bummed as it didn't clamp down good at first and was interfearing with the throtttle assembly. I took it over to my CNC bench grinder and ground down the connecting flange and put a little negative rake into it ,works great now. Drove by a guy on a Harley, I thought he was going to get a broken neck. So little flash , so much class. As promised:

Hey bob, that looks awesome. I just ordered the same bike but in flat. Where did you order your new filter from, and where did you connect the breather that was attached to the old one? Did you put a filter on that too?

I think I've figured it out for you. With springer front end it will be difficult to mount as the mounted fender will move up and down. And possible to hit the tire.

Sorry the pictures got out of order The important one is the speedo bracket.
I made this one as his was missing and really caused havoc with all his wiring.
double check this bracket is there and tight and tightened on the thick part of the speedo cable not the thin part of it.
The other picts is a neat way to add old school look springs correctly to your original seat as this bracket fits under the origianl seat and uses the bolts that are allready on the seat/ no alterations needed. Plus the 2 extra springs make the bike look way better and more old school and the mono spring is still there for even more support and spring action.
Then Skullworkz wifes shop can make you a custom seat cover loaded with gel or foam in anything you could dream of as they have the seat pattern ready to go, I am going to order a cooler looking cover soon from them, mine is pretty plain jane. Their work is amazing! The link is on forum.
Bob ,Hopefully the pict is clear enough on the bracket!
where did you guys get the seat bracket?

Cant take a picture of the clearcoat flaking because its all gone now it appears. It literally came off in chunks the size of 3 to 4 inches in width. I have never been a fan of clear coat. To me straight paint is easier to repair and care for.
I do have a cover for my bike but I noticed that it tended to trap moisture under it and made it even worse. I may just have to sell my mancave couch to make room for my bike in my one car garage / man-cave.
On a side note my air filter mesh is also rusty. They sell the same damn filter on ebay and claim it's stainless steel. Yeah right! So I ordered a different replacement filter on ebay. Its the one most of you have purchased and was pictured earlier in this thread. If it rusts like the stock one does then I will switch to an all foam one instead. The one I ordered was cheap enough for this pay day and hopefully better quality than the one that came with it. My thinking is though that the foam ones would be better than the paper element wire mesh ones. Any thoughts on that?
Consider spraying your wheels with Plasti dip. Looks really cool and easy to do. In many colors. Look up their videos on YouTube dipyourcar.com.

To neutralize it get a bottle of Naval Jelly. It turns the rust invisible fast. Make sure you can wash it off with soap and water and use fine steel wool to get them spokes shiny again, then wax em.
Sun and weather take a toll on Motorcycles fairly fast. You just need to do extra detailing. The clear coat problems sound odd. Post a picture if you can. These things would be pretty easy to paint, even with a rattle can and some clear coat once the prep sanding and primer were applied.
Keep in mind if you get any of this stuff on your skin or paint it will remove those items as well!

Next I am going to clearcoat the wood to make it look kinda like a bowling ball finish, and then she wants the machine fire engine red and black. While I have it apart I am going to hand polish every moving part inside to make it run smooth as glass. The new motor, pedal, belt and wiring ect. will be here in a day or so.

Dear Skullworkz,
That Singer project is so cool it deserves a thread of its own! No cheap plastics on that almost 90-year-old battle axe! Thanks to you and your wife for breathing new life into a great piece of vintage technology. And thanks for using it to make beautiful handmade accessories for today's neo-retro motorcycle technology...
cheers

Dear Terrilb05,
Welcome to MyChinaMoto! Glad to see you found this epic DF 250 RTB thread, which is by far the most active thread in MCM and has had an amazing life of its own since the member who started it barely 2 years ago, Barnone, sold his bobber and moved on to a new love (a Kawasaki W650)...

I'm looking forward to reading about your adventures with the bike, and lots of pix -- including side-by-sides of your bobber and your harley!
cheers

cheers!

BobTheBobber: I made It on a CNC Mill myself, It is cool because it uses all the factory bolt holes under the original seat and fits between the Y bars under the seat and holds the seat springs to the seat itself. If you can see it in the picts I installed 2 each threaded clevis pins in the bracket that line up exactly wher I wanted to mount the bottom of the springs to the frame. I made only 2 of them.
I made a pattern using cardboard and installed the cardboard to make sure it fit, then programmed it into the CAD system. I did this because I wanted to continue to use the mono spring and also wanted the 2 rear springs for added suspension for my almost 200 pounds. One can just get a new seat like some have done that will already have the 2 clevis pins in the bottom of the seat. Then just buy the 2 billet bottom seat bolt on brackets on ebay and drill 2 holes in your frame under the seat, same results but you will loose the mono spring but gain a new seat. More than one way to do this.
or you can make your own Bracket using a band saw and 3/32 or 1/4" aluim and drill the holes by hand. The bracket doesnt show at all and could be crude as heck and it would make no difference at all. I elongated the bolt holes so installation was easier.:dirtbike:
