Well how is it going. Is the break in as bad as they say? (30mph for 180 miles)

Just installed this mini tachometer from Ebay

I zip tied it to the handlebars and wrapped the wire around the spark plug wire per the instructions.

This type of tach does not respond fast and has about a second or two delay but will supply the information I want such as the RPM at a cruising speed. I'll take a ride tomorrow and report back RPM at different speeds. I am currently running a 38 tooth rear sprocket.
I am curious to see the RPM at 60MPH.
Internal battery and just one wire to wrap around the plug wire.
The 35 tooth should be fine. I ran a 33 for a while when I was in flat Florida and it seemed to be fine. 38 for here in the mountains. Frost forecast for tonight and snow flurries for 4k feet and above.

Thanks for starting the thread
Drive the flat prairies of the mid-west, hope the 35 works with our traffic.
Why is there a break in? Our american motors since the 80's have not needed.
By the way will I need to change length of chain with a rear sprocket change?
Gun ROD
I think you will need to shorten the chain but I could be wrong. Going from a 45 tooth to a 35 tooth.

I took out two links, when I went to a 33 tooth rear sprocket. (112 pins total remaining).
