Re: Jialing JH-150GY-3 impressions
since my kickstart assembly snapped I guess my starter clutch decided that it would be a good time to go out. I've had starter issues from the beginning (see my original post) - but now it's official, no easy way to start (gotta push start it to get it to the shop!) Until I get it fixed, I leave you with this:
20L gas tank swap (not mine):

My starter died a long time ago. You can buy new one for some small money on taobao. I think it would be easy to replace it on your own.

Wooo the tank. Cool. Can you give me the link to the tread? Did you found out where they bought it and if its easy to swap it? Looks evil

With that tank changing the engine to 250ccm makes sense. If I just new earlier :/
Re: Jialing JH-150GY-3 impressions
I can't find a carburator for Jialing on taobao. Any ideas? Is it uniform?
taobao
How difficult is it to set it up for high altitude. Is it better to have second one or play with the one I have when I need to? Will I be able to change it on my own?
Re: Jialing JH-150GY-3 impressions
Look for something like PZ-26, and check is your carb connected to manifold with flange, clamp or spigot, check their dimensions and that's all the wisdom.

I believe Barry is correct - it's the Long March tank.
Also, here's a 250cc engine swap, although why you'd want a zongshen on there is beyond me!

you're in Beijing you should just get it from the factory/dealer/service center - which oddly enough doesn't have a single number listed in the back of the service manual... Here's some other numbers they have listed though:
nation wide toll-free service number: 80-0807-0315, 80-0807-3150
Office number (no idea for what...): 023-6519-8888
Tianjin Service center (an hour away from you): 022-8687-7192

You got a trip coming up soon? High altitude = less air = running more rich, simple adjustment (temporarily) is to take the air filter out of the box ;) Long term solution is to re-jet.

This guy say "PE27" will swap in - he also bypassed the whole airbox!
