Cops stop vehicles without plates :-)

looking weird a chang with A-plates somewhere in US ...
Pic of my bike, got it last year, 2nd hand, 32bhp, have done some mods like move the battery to bike, replace the electronic contols, fit a more comfortable sidecar seat and seat belt, and replace the front drum brake with a disc brake.
Went out last Sat with 4 other bikes to Jianshanwei, near the sea about 60kms from Shanghai, nice ride out, took the dog which was a mistake as the officials wouldn't allow him on the beach, no breakdowns apart from the guides bike took 20 mins to fix after lunch, and then 300 yds from the shop on the way home one of the other bikes broke down and had to be towed to shop.

Welcome to the forum, Badger, and fantastic first post. That's one beautifully preserved Changjiang! I'm guessing you have a garage.
Were you all on CJs during your weekend ride?
We've got a bunch of MCM members here in Shanghai, but rarely meet. Will hope to rectify that soon, probably once the weather turns cold.
cheers!
Hi, that was a pic of the bike when I 1st got it last year, and it doesn't look as shiny now :(
I did spent a day last CNY washing and polishing every part of it and it gleamed, but been a bit lazy since and some rust has appeared on the rear lights and spare wheel which I need to sort. My wife may be going on holiday at the end of August for a week so will try and get the spit and polish out then. i don't have a garage, but I do have an underground car park at my complex.
They were all CJ's, myself, the guide, a Canadian couple and their 5 yr old daughter who only arrived in Shanghai in April, a Brit guy, a US guy and a couple who I would guess were either French or Italian. Was a nice day out, supposed to leave CJ Sidecar on Hami Lu at 9am, the usual 45 mins delay whilst one of the bikes got fixed and then we were off. No other real drama, the French/Italian driver thought part of his bike was making a metal tapping noise around the sidecar wheel but couldn't work out why, and I foolishly let go of the handlebars at 10km/h to put my sunglasses on and within 2 secs had a tank slapper doing it's best to break my wrists, so I just applied the back brake and kind of shuddered to a stop. All a bit handbags really.
Meet up would be good, I've done the odd ride out with CJ and also Peter Keim (yangstepete) who is also doing his absolute best to convince my wife and I to do the Tibet trip with him this Oct holiday.

Just a random photo taken last winter, in my complex in Shanghai.
Not the greatest photo!
