Where did I read about a factory in Guangzhou making 400cc dual sport bikes? I'm moving to Qing yuan just a small distance North of GZ and could be interested in a new set of wheels and a 400 sounds good!
Made in Guangzhou ? Any contact info?
Hi John, IMO after 11.000km over the last 6 weeks riding with the Doc with me riding on a Honda CRF250L I can appreciate why your DRZ400 seemingly ticks all the boxes. A DS bike makes a lot of sense. Now with the possibility that Honda will bring out the CRF250 utilising the new CB300R engine, then the re powered Honda CRF IMHO would be a fairly close match to the DRZ400, it's just a shame most DRZ400 were illegally imported into China - making them a less than ideal choice. I can totally understand your comments with regards to your bike.
The CRF250 has a 7.7L fuel tank but has been good for 200km range, a larger tank would likely be a worthy upgrade.

The bike that got me started riding motorcycles in China - that exact Shineray right there, that was parked at my friend's apartment complex. It took me a while to figure out that it was the same exact motorcycle as I would later see on this website. Funny...
Not this bike in this picture either, but the Shineray belonging to supersignet...
Shineray makes the X5. That's the only 400cc DS I know of. And it's not made in Guangzhou. I haven't heard of any bikes being made in Guangzhou. I was unsuccessful buying a Shineray, in any way. Just couldn't get my hands on one from the factory any way I tried to maneuver, being constantly told to find a dealer, which there isn't in Guangdong.
Nice pics everyone !!!
Here is mine 250cc GY-9

A decent bike , used it around Salibury Plain and other rides , bit of a rarity in the UK .
Used my GY200 to go to Spain and back - 2500miles with no problems at all - except the short fuel range .

My trail bike here in huizhou, started off as a cheap JY150, then i put a 250cc engine from a three wheeler in it along with, rims, spokes, tyres, shocks,30mm carb, 20w fork oil etc etc eventually got it pretty decent. Ride it out through the local trails all the time now.

This 1/4 mile pass . Bike and rider weight combined 500 lbs . Timed at 16 second pass . This yields 24.13 HP . This was done with non optimal gearing as well . 5th gear was just getting started . I believe if I geared it down with a 48 tooth rear sprocket I could shave a second off . This would be 29 HP . Not bad for a bike that is into my wallet for about $2000 ( bought used ) . Dirt Bike Magazine has included this and it's 250 cousin in it's yearly Buyers Guide many times .
Hey guys, I'm new to My China Moto and China bikes.

Nice looking Bashan! Did you mail-order it or buy it from a dealer? Also, are you on Chinariders.net?

I think Joe Berk took this photo.
Great little bike for the money.

waswaswas84,
so what does mean these UA stickers on your boxes? :)
'Till I don't see huge "Tryzub" on panniers, UA stickers mean nothing. :mwink:
I've been that area in my push rod 200cc GY - and yeah runs lower on power but not a major issue cause it's only a while at high altitude. I wouldn't be surprised if a local lad did it on his 125cc Suzuki either
No carb change really needed for such a short high altitude ride as you just rumble thru and go with the flow
