thnx bar 5/8X1/4 520 chain now just need to dig up a 36 tooth (have 15/42 now , redlines at 70ish)
Dan,
You said earlier " bolted up but teeth were to narrow to fit into the chain , any idea's how to determin type of chain I have ?"
Did you mean that the teeth were too wide to fit in the chain?
BTW, The DF has a 520 chain. Better check your measurement.
Go to http://www.gizmology.net/sprockets.htm for more information on how to measure your chain.
Have a look at this.It may help.I can't remember if the DF has a pumper or a cv carb. http://www.factorypro.com/tech_tunin...m_engines.html
The DF has a PZ30 pumper so go to http://walbro.com/brochurefiles/3368...g%20Manual.pdf
Don't know what carb DanDaMan's bike has on it.
I prefer a pumper carb on a single.
Sense we're on the subject. Installing the new chain yesterday, I used EK's patented Screw Type Connecting Link. No riveting or clip.
It comes with extra long shafts that are threaded half way. After inserting, put plate on and finger tight nuts provided. 5/16 wrench start equally torqing down. Once it bottoms, you break off threaded shafts. Must work like a plumbing compression fitting. Clean look & reported to be as strong as a riveted link without the hasel.
also have pumper carb , looking at links I did find a link with a number stamp , 428H JE KMC, ..... well atleast I know what to order now (engine/carbs seem to be an exact match between your bobbers n my chopper , and had all of the same electrical issues listed earlier in the thread as well (solved by simply installing new rectifier ) oddly enough 428 is a match for the honda CG 125 that the motor is derived from
still have the a bit lean problem at mostly open throttle , 45 pilot(stock) dunno about needle jet size but have 2 washers on it and 112 main , still lean but at least there is the very faintest tinge of tan wer as be4 with the 88 it was always bone white (used a bit of 180degree ( U shaped) radiator tubing to reposition airfilter from rear facing out into the airstream and forward facing)
but I have read that ALL 3 jets effect WOT , and was wondering if up sizing pilot n needle jets might solve my issues /shrug there cheap enough trial n error may not hurt , gunna go up 1 size on my pilot n 2 on needle n post my results
