ben2go,
What year DF bobber do you have?
My 2010 DF bobber has an electronic speedometer with a wired pickup on the front hub. It is not a mechanical speedometer that has a gear drive off the front wheel.

Can someone give me accurate information on the DF's Tire sizes
somebody at the gas station asked me if i built this bike cause he never one like it before, he nearly flipped his wig when i told him it was chinese, haha.
I get alot of mixed reactions when they ask about my bike. I had a harley rider fly by me on the road..then slowed down to get next to me,and pulled into the store lot I was going to just to ask me about it. I realy was kinda caught off gaurd with his interest..so when he asked me about it,I kinda beat around the bush a little, then broke down and told him about it. He said it was a very cool bike.He said he bought his bike about a year ago..he was riding a 2010 Dyna, and paid around $16 grand....at that moment I got a grin on my face and said I paid $2400 brand spankin new for mine.I thought he crapped himself. Still I am hesitant on saying it is a chinese bike even after that, cause the readtions are always mixed..you get the oh you wasted your money, or your kidding..why? Or ..I wouldn't touch that then. But I also get the other side of the spectrum..so...when they ask I just say at first..it's a Bobber. Then if they pry a little more,I feel it out and decide from there what to tell them.
Don't get me wrong..I realy love this bike..it is awesome to me..and the looks I get from the first glances, and the comments about how 50's old school it looks..are great..but when you tell some of these conservative's where it is made..sometimes you get a look like you killed their mother or took food from their children or something. So I just start it up and ride away then.
Thanks for all the advice a few weeks ago - I finally decided to get something other than the DF for my first bike. The roads in Houston are just too bumpy for me to feel comfortable with a hardtail for my learning bike, and I think I need a little more getaway power because the drivers here are pretty aggressive. I went with a Ducati 1199. The guy at the dealership said it would be perfect for me.
jk.
2004 Suzuki. I'll make all my n00b mistakes on it. There will be a bobber in my garage at some point - just not this year. Thanks again for a great thread.
I noticed that the model number for this bike is MC_D250RTB at Scooterdepot. Is this still the Dong Fang DF250RTB?
Yep, same bike.
I bought mine from Chad at http://www.extremescooters.biz/250cc...r-chopper.aspx which seems to have a better price.
