The AJP PR5 also employs the Zongshen NC250 engine, with U.S. Delphi EFI.

These new models for United Motors look to be manufactured in India, the engine is defiantly the Zongshen 279cc engine, however the bikes themselves are coming out of India. The suggested retail prices reflect that.
160,000.00 INR = 2,416.19 USD
UM is taking a page out of Harley Davidson's playbook with these, much like the HD Street a water cooled entry level cruisers also made in India. The difference is that these are only a 279cc single, the HD Street come in a V-Twin and in 500/750cc versions, they are both modern water cooled cruisers.
UM dealers in India
UM is partnering with Lohia motors and claim production capability of one hundred thousand units a year.
Zongshens administrations, is it worried about India, not likely as they are correlating there success with it. If you’re watching or betting on who will succeed in the Chinese Motorcycle Industry, then consider betting on Zongshen.
Couple of new offering from Zongshen
RX1, little brother for the RX3 come with either 150 or 200cc engines.

Chengdu Zongshen dealer tells me there will be a 390 version of the Rx3 out in a few months. Rx4 I guess. A lot of the Rx3's hanging out at the dealership , the owners hanging out playing cards and yarning as riders do. All the bikes had done big trips and all showed signs of minor crashes. Lots of scuffs and scratches but didn't see any broken plastics which seems to indicate pretty tough bikes. Btw a new ECU is 500 rmb retail so for the anti Efi luddites just buy a spare and wrap it in bubble wrap.
Also btw the bike can only be registered in China with the 15" rear so of course the locals get a plate and then swap in the 17" wheel. Another example of spare parts cost is 45 rmb for the Perspex screen. So I bought one to put on my X2 lol.
Zongshen has its act together, by 2018 they will be much more recognized. They plan on offering their NC450 single in the RX and it may end up in the RZ too? They are developing twins and plans are for up to 850cc.
Their water-cooled PY200 has decent power output, it will likely show up in the ZII in addition to the RX1. They are not off on prices either, typically the Chinese get overly enthusiastic on prices.
This UM ad for their Renegade sport comes off like a spoof ad on SNL, not to difficult to image Will Ferrell in it. Some must believe that a rebellious spirit is something that you can buy like a can of chicken soup. The production value of the add is A+, the added narration is as cheesy as Velveeta.

It looks that for the time being this will be the UM model that will be made in India, they intend on exporting these. It does have the 279cc Zongshen engine…
It’s not that inexpensive for India, likely due to the importing of the engine from China.

149,000.00 INR = 2,249.62 USD
Here is an image of the UM Commando, these have the cover around the forks behind the headlamp exactly the same as a Harley Davidson Fat Boy, this version of the Renegade sells for more, then the others, not more then a Fat Boy though.
from
159,000.00 INR = 2,401.27 USD
to
163,000.00 INR = 2,461.68 USD
are there any second hand dealers in or around shanghai selling rx3s?
