Sweet ride bar.. lucky you can ride it in this weather. Have had mine in the garage last couple weeks. Wish the cold would go away.
Bow,
Thanks. A little chilly here but still good riding weather.Attachment 16791
Yeah, darn these cold, cold winters!!
(Just rubbing it in. I spent 58 cold winters on the mainland. One in Great Falls, Montana)
Weather change today, was only 48 this morning.. so I rode into work.. supposed to be 75 by the time I leave.. gonna be that way for the next couple days they say. yippeee gonna ride.
Just went through my email for the day. Got one from Johnny Pag motorcycles. They are announcing a new motorcycle to their lineup. It sure looks like the Dong Fang bobber, but with some differences. A chrome exhaust, peanut tank, springer front forks, apparently no front fender(?). There is one photo in the email, but they don't show the bike on their website yet. Pag has some nice looking bikes, but they are on the spendy side of things for China bikes. They have been using a 320cc fuel injected water cooled vertical twin engine, but this new one sure looks like the air cooled single the Dong uses to me.
Here is the website:

I like the Ventura. What kinda $ they asking for that ? And BTW , Its water cooled as they say. Those are psudo (fake) cooling fins on the cylinder. Ya gotta have the air cooled look on a bobber.
They are marked at $4999.00. And the new bike doesn't use this water cooled engine. They are very nice looking motorcycles. The Frisco model, with the springer front end is $5499.00. Don't know about the one in the email, as no price is given. It should be less, with the air cooled single engine.
I saw no air cooled single on anything ? Where did you see an air cooled single on their three versions of that machine ?
bird,
How about posting a photo of the air cooled Johnny Pag springer? I looked on the net and could not find one.
I switched to a "Chromebook", and wouldn't have a clue how to do that. It doesn't have memory like a real computer. I signed up at the Johnny Pag website a few months ago, to get notices from the company. They do have a Facebook page, but I don't think they have this bike there yet either. I like the bikes the do have on their website better, but, as I say, $5000-$5500 is what they are getting for them. And, good luck finding a dealer.
I have been using a Chromebook for several years. Forward the email to me at skeekahcove@gmail.com and I will try and post the photo here.
Thanks
Got it.
I think it is another model of the Frisco.

350 cc model
Maybe a 50cc / 125cc model for other markets? Like the 125 cc DF in England?
Our Frisco Model is now available!Attachment 16792
50cc / 125cc / 350cc
50 cc 125cc model?
Looks like the DF250RTB-B model to me.

That's what I thought. No radiator on this one.
That Frisco bike is water cooled IMO.
Sure is quite here.
Nobody breaking their DF?
I will be rejoining my DF in a month or so as I left it WNC for the winter.
Gonna take my new Ural up there to meet the DF and the monkey bikes.

Just installed new battery yesterday. Also bought a trickle charger with the pig-tail attachment for the battery. Our weather is turning around this week, so I might just be able to get it out of the garage for the first time this year.

Just been way to cold and wet around here to do any riding. Have not even had a chance to change out my master cylinder nor new pads. Hope to get that done this weekend, as the weather man says possible good stuff next week.
Nice looking Ural there! I worked with a gent in parts at Destination HD/Buell in Tacoma, Washington for years. Dave is a large man. Not at all overweight, but very tall. He picked up a used Ural rig from an uncle ai believe, in order that he AND his wife could both ride together. He loves that thing!! He also had a Buell Ulyses (spelling??), and he also liked that for solo riding.
I bought a brand new bike.Honda CB500X adventure bike with fuel injection.I put 45 miles on it on the way home from the dealer last Wednesday.I have close to 300 miles on it now from commuting and the tag game on ADVrider.

ben2go,
Very nice bike but it is not like you to spring for a new bike. Hit the lottery?:lol8:
My new Ural is my first EFI bike. Loving it so far.
Congratulations on the new ride. I rode a CB500X in northern Thailand for close to two months (Jan & Feb) 2014. Clocked up 15000km+ in that time. Rode both on an off road. Lots of dirt roads, 4x4 tracks and some single track. Granted a better set of DS knobbly tyres would have been a help, but the CB500X did very well considering. I luved the bike, and would buy one in a heartbeat if the CB500X were legally distributed in PRC (only the CBR500 & CB500F are legally imported here - TIC).
This year I rode my BMW G650GS from Ningbo PRC to Northern Thailand for two months of folly before returning to PRC last week. The GS was able to go places where the CB500X probably couldn't. There are a pair of CB500X that have been used on fairly serious off-road that have modified suspension front and rear, taken from a KTM model. Met the riders/owners in Nan and saw the bikes out back of the Vespa shop (they own). The guys have a FB page. There's a great resource on the CB500X with discussion about making the bike more off-road capable...
I noticed that many rental/hire CB500X's are being shod with VeeRubber knobbly tyres. VeeRubber are made by a Thai tyre company.
Thai eduro CB500X's (x2) modified with the KTM suspension. The owners had a fac3book page at the time...
