Re: Riding in or around Shenzhen
Interesting Morfar, do you mind sharing what you paid, and do you know how much a 3 bike trailer is? Been thinking about taking a chance on one so we can haul our dirt bikes up to northern Guangdong. Was hoping my autotoll device would get us on the highway and then plan to plead ignorance if someone raises an issue.
Cheers!

Would be interested to see details about the brand too. Do they have a web site? Would you mind posting a picture or two?
cheers

Hi.
Link to the producer: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/20...e_Trailer.html
The guys are very friendly and have a top service....... and YES, they are Chinese!!
I got the one at the pics. and payed 3100 rmb
For 3 bikes the price are 4700 rmb
All prices + shipping. Delivery time: app. 3 weeks
I have rebuilded mine a bit and will post some pics. soon - if anybody interested in Beijing they can come to my garage and have a look and a beer....
I also use my trailer as a kind of "lift" - while the trailer is only 1,2 m wide, it's perfect working at the bikes when standing on the trailer.

I don't guess your cars are large enough for a hitch hauler?

Re: Riding in or around Shenzhen
Morfar,
Nice looking trailer.
Re: Riding in or around Shenzhen
Clean and mean rig indeed. I'm curious about the response by traffic police in and around Beijing as you roll through. Is there any requirement that you plate the trailer, as is required in many other countries?
Is the secondary metal trough a ramp for rolling the bike onto the trailer? Can you ride the bike up or do you walk it from the side. Can you accomplish this alone, or do you need a spotter on the other side too?
Nice looking bike, too.
Given the new focus of this thread and the delightful revelations that trailers are an option here in China, I'm thinking the trailer posts deserve to be broken out into their own thread!
best holiday cheers!
Re: Riding in or around Shenzhen
Yea, I don't see any license plate holder on Morfar's trailer. Does that mean that a plate is not required in China?

Hmm, OP has the say on it, but as it is still relevant to his original topic I would say leave as is, so maybe you can cut and paste the best bits Jeff and repost as 'trailers in China' or similar?
If it gets some more action and authoritative answers, it could well be a good sticky. I find I have some leeway as a mod but these things are really down to our lost leader, el capitano loco, CC. He's not responded to emails and PM's about spam and such issues as this over a few weeks so hopefully is well but busy. Else he is ignoring me! :naughty:
