Transmission shock absorber
I'm not sure of the criteria used by designers for choosing one type of transmission shock absorber or another, or even for including one at all. As for the cush drive one, this rubber between the components cushions the shock that occurs from engine and braking torque. Transmissions, clutch, and spokes will last much longer with a cush drive hub setup.
Suzuki didn't see fit to include one on the DR range either, so it's not a Qingqi failing. It maybe that they consider the shock absorber fitted to the clutch basket is enough for this purpose. It's the springs fitted between the primary drive gear and the clutch basket itself, like on this photo:

It seems that the XF200 which is a Qingqi made by some sort of subsidiary called Shandong Pioneer at http://www.xfmotor.com.cn/en/ and superficially LOOKS like our bikes, IS fitted with a cush drive rear hub and a completely different rear sprocket fixing method. It looks superior to me and wonder how the two makers doing what appears to be the same bike can come up and justify these differences.
There are good photos of the arrangement, courtesy of poster "fenouilledes" from France.
