If you sold 70 last year and then sold 100 this year then that is a 30% increase.
or 140 went to 200 or at a higher starting number they gained 30%.
Considering that the article stated that 50 units of special edition that they sold represented the majority of the 30% increase in sales for 2012, then the actual sales for 2012 could be between 167 and 330? Because selling 60 more then last year would be 30% of 200. Could also be more depending on what is the actual ratio of the majority, they say 50 units were the majority of the sales. It could be less then 99 units as a increase, because over 99 would have an equal amount of units sold, that were not a special edition.
The most they could have sold in 2012 was 330 units or 99/30% more then last year. If the 50 special editions were the majority of the 2012 sales, then as many as 49 were other models.

"During the war a motorcycle-manufacturing plant was moved here from Moscow. For more than fifty years, over three million motorcycles had been produced here. The factory now produces only two thousand motorcycles a year, most of which are for export. In the Soviet times, however, hundreds of thousands were produced. Today it produces different types of motorcycles and spare parts for them, specializing in heavy motorcycles with sidecars."
