Thanks, any idea by how much my revs will increase by on a performance CDI unit, at the moment I'm flat out at 9000rpm hitting ~64mph. Using a smaller front sprocket as I'm quite a big guy.

Oh, any idea if my bikes ac or dc on the cdi side?
Hi revs will kill your engine.
And I don't think that CDI limits revs on your bike, and, if limits, it's not because manufacturer wanted to limit the maximum speed and power. Maybe just engine design is not intended for high revs.
I'm aware of what revs do, my YBR would sit at 10-11k doing 70-80mph all day long with no mods, this little engine is only limited to 9k, an extra 1k would be perfect, not planning to run it into 12-13k redline. Just want the bike to get to 70mph and hold it as my 19mile commute (38miles a day) consists of a 3 lane 70mph road. That's all I'm after, so any other mods or ideas are appreciated, I'm determined to get this bike to do what the yammy could do.
I was going to say that Chinese engines aren't as strong as Jap ones but then again I've done hour long trips at 10k rpm before so I guess they aren't that bad. After you have done your performance mods you could put your bigger front sprocket on again just to keep the revs down a tad.
New CDI is not working, wiring seems correct but I have an additional cable, where the two pins are, my old unit only has one pin, but the new unit has two pins.
Led is flashing as I'm trying to start up, any ideas?
Try to find proper spinout schematics for your bike's stock CDI and this new CDI unit. Maybe you'll make it work after moving some cables.

Thanks human, I watched that video earlier and I believe I have a DC system and the CDI unit I ordered is AC :hellfire:
Ordered a DC one tonight, will update progress, should be here on thursday.
is your bike a CG or CB based engine as trhe CB based engines will rev higher due to being a OHC design, I get what you mean though I used to comute 40 miles a day 20 to and 20 back from college on a 50 and I always wanted it to just do abit more to be comfortable in traffic on dual carriageways.
just looked at your blog did you fit michelin pilot sportys? I loved those tyres had such good feel in them for a tyre for 125's.
