I gotta give it to ya! You ride that Ducati where others won't:riding: I need to get up off of my ass and go riding, far, far, away:lol8: Can you believe it, I'm still waiting on a permanent plate. at least the price is coming down. I heard through the grapevine a new KTM dealer is coming to town. It would be nice to get a proper KTM dirt bike. We'll see what happens. Be safe!
Awesome as usual TB! Don't know why, but feel like I've been to a few of these places with ChinaBiker several years ago.
Cheers!

Looks like your having another awesome trip. When are you back in Shanghai?
These pictures from TB-Racing show precisely why living in Beijing is such a love-hate experience. The mountains to the north and west of Beijing are filled with countless roads like this, many of them barely traveled. Where in China can you see a stream running so perfectly clearly?
I'm curious, having not lived in Beijing for a decade, as to how much the air quality clears as you leave urban Beijing behind on a very high-pollution day. I see the AQI has been spiking above 200 again this week, yet TB-Racing is posting pictures of pristine blue skies. Is it actually possible to ride out from under the miasma? That would be all the more reason to have a bike at the ready!
I'm so filled with envy I'm thinking of organizing a Beijing ride myself!

Mate, you got that right and spot on, in my view there's two kind of bikers on MCM = the ones that do actually ride bikes and the ones that just talk about bikes and rides but.... nevermind....
No return date fixed yet, still got some B+B to finish up in Beijing for a few weeks (B+B = biking and business).....
Great breakfast meeting spot in Beijing before cruising up to the mountains (opens at 07:00hrs).
Good solid coffee and cakes, sandwiches, soft-drinks, etc. and bike parking on the sidewalk.

Hey TBR - great that Tiananmen worked out "in the lane" The diva looks great.
I've been kicked out of the lane a couple of times, although a couple of times it has been ok. I was guessing that this time of year might be a bit sensitive. Early morning is possible (pre 0700) for natural light shots at the Gate/Square, although the night time ones look better, IMHO.
Very nice pics with that camera you pack. Waiting for the Eastern Pinggu shots, as it seems you are the only one who packs a camera, and actually knows how to use it!
Before you depart, maybe we'll get a chance to do the western 108/109 loop - no problem with your LEGAL bike (depending on the route, there are a couple of check points in/out of Hebei, although it depends on how eager the police are on any given day). There is a very nice, hidden lakeside restaurant, as well.
