Re: CFMoto 650TR halogen - HID headlight upgrade
Something made in Ch!na doesn't mean it's available here. There's like two assembly/manufacturing lines... 1. for export only items 2. domestic market ...then there's the scoff-law 3rd option... ;)

I got fast start for both but in hind site I should have used standard ballast for 35watt low beam and fast for the 55watt high beam. The ballasts are called pro vision and have a 5 year replacement warranty unfortunately they don't have a brand name but must be the best Chinese ones available to carry that warranty. So they are available in China but I don't know how you would find them.

Good idea. Thanks. Perhaps can directly change to LED bulbs
Re: CFMoto 650TR halogen - HID headlight upgrade
Perhaps you're meaning H7 bulbs... not H8?

No, my bike has H8 bulbs. It listed in the owner's manual and I have seen the mechanic unplugged them from a display bike at my local dealer.
Re: CFMoto 650TR halogen - HID headlight upgrade
^Good just checking. H8 is what you need. Some HID kits have universal adaptor plates. H8 HID kits are available just depends on the manufacturer.
LED headlights though are worth considering. Just make sure that any LED headlight bulb has a integrated heat sink or fan to keep the three main susceptible components (processor/chip, base layer, & armature) at an even operating temperature for maximum operational lifespan.

Thanks for the pointers. I have ordered LED 6000K conversion kit. It comes with slim line ballast like the ones in the HID. The wattage is 36w give or take 4w. It has 3200lumens each so a total of 6400lumens. Looking forward to installing it.

The LED kit arrived and time to install it. At the same time, the taller screen from CFMoto arrived too. Time to get cracking

This is the box and LED units. It has built-in fan at the base.
Attachment 17225
The ballast are tied up and the LED bulbs are in.

Testing the low beam

Testing the high beam
Attachment 17227
Have to say the lights are very bright. Throwing 3200 lumens from each LED bulb giving a total of 6400 lumens. The horn works too with both beams switch on. :riding:
