Re: Suzuki GSX-R250 + DL250 V-strom
I would figure the DL and the GSXR could easily be certified under the GW 'umbrella' no matter the market they are in. In the U.S., once a bike is certified, it lists several models that fall under the certification. There would not be any issue with these two bikes to be certified in the US provided they are based on the GW 250. Suzuki should take away the word 'concept' and introduce it worldwide to what I believe would be a receptive audience--certainly more receptive than the GW 250!

Re: Suzuki GSX-R250 + DL250 V-strom
The GW250 is a nice enough bike, but seriously they need to think about putting a 400cc engine in it. It would sell even better if they could keep the price down. Rather than using the usual industry 'you pay per cc' pricing model. In China we are coming in to price per cc price pegging for Japanese branded made in China bikes. Seems like 100cc is 10,000. 150cc 15,000 250cc is 25,000. Therefore a 400 must be 40,000. But I really don't see why it must be this way.
Then when they used the same 400cc motor for race inspired or dual-sport bikes they'd really be onto something, rather than something that would struggle to pull two adults and their kit up a mountain road.

With viewing the bike at the chongqing motoerbike show last week and seeing the new bikes have ABS fitted ? To me this points to the bikes being exported.
Most Chinese people have no knowalage or concept of how importance ABS can be on a bike.

They say they derived more power out of the engine and also a 300cc is in the works.
Makes perfect sense to add the GXR250 to competes with the CBR300 and Ninja 300 also the TNT300 in the Chinese market.
