And the last of the big dogs is Honda, who had a giant booth covering every kind of bike from tiny scooters to VFR1200's.

Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
Thanks, ChinaV, for a front row seat at the show. A lot of food for thought.
One question: What about the girls? It simply beggars belief that none of these steeds came draped with leggy bikebunnies in whiplash-inducing pleather pitsuits. Surely you didn't bring Jenny with you? Did you?? "亲爱的中国威!你拍她干吗?":eek2:
Please, don't hold back!

Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
This is the final post of bikes from the show. Starting with a couple that I forgot back at the beginning followed by some random stuff that caught my eye.
First is the Loncin GP150
http://www.contactdi.com/Processed/CQ102.jpg
Followed by the Loncin 150cc Dual Sport. Again we see 17" rear with a 19" front. Perhaps these guys have been reading what we say here on MCM.

Wow some great bikes there V! Thanks for the report.
Very interested to see that Suzuki want to import more bikes, and that Kawasaki aew thinking about entering China again.
Love this! Bandit kinda thing:

Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
After wandering through all the bikes, I went up to the parts and accessory pavilion. What a disappointment :frump:. I really thought this would be a good opportunity to find stuff, but sadly, there was very little on display.
Fire truck ATV anyone...
http://www.contactdi.com/Processed/CQ123.jpg
Wasn't someone here asking about these?
http://www.contactdi.com/Processed/CQ121.jpg
Couldn't find any high end suspension gear, but did see some mid grade stuff.

Colored tires :eekers:

http://www.contactdi.com/Processed/CQ125.jpg
Nice instrument panel, much better than what we usually get on China motos.
http://www.contactdi.com/Processed/CQ126.jpg
A grand total of two companies selling riding gear. Not a single helmet or glove manufacturer to be found.
http://www.contactdi.com/Processed/CQ127.jpg
CIMA needs to focus on pulling in accessory manufacturers. Without them, it's too hard to justify traveling to the show just to see bikes.
Cheers!

Or Honda VTR250 kinda thing? Oh yes the V twin engine and lattice frame... Hondas copy of a Monster. I wonder if Lifan realize their bike is a copy of a copy?

Who cares? The most important thing for Lifan is to begin mass production of motorcycles that were displayed at the motor show. I waiting this new step forward of the Chinese motorcycle industry.
Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
The pics ROCK! Thanks ChinaV!
The girl on the Harley is the perfect accessory! If only my bike came with one...
Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
Hi ChinaV, thanks for showing us all that!
My opinion:
Why mostly sport/streetbikes?
Will the Expressways be open for these toys?
Does the industry believes the Jialing 600 covered the Dual Sport Niche fully in the 600cc?
To sell these bikes the whole shoppingexpierence must change. They need qualified dealers with locations and clean up the shops.
Events & marketing for a much wider audience.
If they dont succeed in China its export only --> strong competition with low prices --> no money left for product development.
Personally I doubt it, until I see it in a shop with CCC stickers :cryfiddle:
Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
Was wondering when ol' CV was gonna pull out the stop on the model pics! :lol8:
Looks like there's some serious design and motor choices coming into play. Tis' the genesis of the cmoto industry unfolding before our very own eyez! I'm guessing about 5 years till we start to see enough models in production dealers will be willing to but next to japanese bikes on the showroom floor... as long as the costs stay low! :deal:
Anywho, great pics as usual from the CV man. So much great content and good folks on MCM...this joint really needs a publication!

Re: CIMA 2010 ChongQing dates and link
Hi, thanks for these great report and pics !
As far as we can see here, the Lifan 600 is a design study on a Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat basis :
same chassis, fork, brakes and of course same inline four. Looking at the crankcase, there's no doubt about it.
Not a bad idea anyway cause they may be able to get a licence on this mid-90's technology.

Excellent coverage!
That's my next motorcycle!!! (around december I'm pulling the trigger on one as soon as I finish paying my new truck).
I'm getting it in Motard configuration and with a few other goodies. Here it's sold under the "Keeway" brand -model TX200- and it looks like this (USD 2.690):

Nice pics! (and hotpot!) That shark bobber is strange. A regal raptor Daytona with a Harley Sportster Tank! Was it branded as a Regal Raptor?
