Yeah, my wife speaks French nearly fluently (in France she's usually mistaken for being Belgian) and she can barely understand Quebecois.Quote:
In Beijing, these days, too many police speak English. My only escape is Canadian French! Of course, then again, not many Parisians understand Quebecois! (aka nongmin francais)

Here a picture for Jape, hope this will speed up the healing process!

Any of the sidecar guys in BJ interested in one of these, Lao Jia Hou maybe? There's one sitting outside close to Dong si shi tiao, looks like it's not being used anymore.
Thanks mate. The quacks (sorry Jeff) reckon I have been making my injuries worse riding the Kinlon, a bit of broken spine bone floating around that was 'encapsulated' for twenty years until recently has been pressing on the spinal column thing. which hurts. That not so much the problem, just that me left leg stops working every now and again.
Bloody annoying, I've got a month to cut and split twenty cubic meters of firewood. Serves me right for being slack before. Any chinese brides handy with a chainsaw that you lot know of?
Just to keep on topic - I may have to get a Goldwing/two-wheeled armchair myself! Hmm, maybe Chinabride could learn to ride and I could get a side-car with built in bar?
Ouch is right! BTW, they have great massages in China ... very medicinal.
A group of us play in a band we call "The Sidecars", out at the Iron Horse Cafe (next to Jimbo's Custom Sidecar shop). Jim can build anything related to sidecars. For example, when we are out on our road trips ...

Therefore, a Wing with a side-wing, piloted by a lovely sweety ... TIC ... anything is possible!
Much as I do appreciate music, listening to Mille Jackson right now, that image put my recovery back a month. I shall be scared to stop off in Beijing, being a meek and mild sort of a bloke.
Are the Iron Horse Cafe and Jimbo's Custom Sidecar shop accessible via the subway or bus or anything? I want to come out and check them out, but I'm pretty my e-bike won't make it that far!
Hi Yves,
Have you found your Goldwing?
Cheers
Hi Orange Rider,
i still have not found a Legal Goldwing. I gave up a while ago getting busy riding other bikes lately.
Anyway, i am still curious about finding a Goldwing.
Cheers,
Ride safe,
Yves
Bonjour Yves !
We are located in Shanghai (Hongqiao) and are opening this month a 620sqm shop called Powersports Distribution.
We just sold 2 Goldwing (no ABS version). We have another one coming full options but airbag in white but already sold.
We ofcourse deliver with plate (Shanghai) and insurance. I'll have to check if we can arrange directly a Beijing plate for you.
In any case, we'll provide you Customs papers and CCC docs if you want to handle registration by yourself upthere.
Just let me know what kind of options & color and we'll make you an offer with price & leadtime.
We also have a couple of K1600GTL (full options)... They rock !
If you are interested, pls call me at 18616859769.
Cheers
David

Dear David,
Wow! This is most impressive, and good on you for doing this. I'll suppress my intense curiosity about how you get these berthas into China and properly papered, but I will say it's extremely encouraging that you've found a method.
Are you setting up shop only as a importer/distributor, or will you have a showroom, parts and service too? Only for Honda? Do you have a hand in the recent news that Suzuki will be importing some heavy thunder (Hayabusa!!)? Other brands? (You did mention the big bimmer, though BMW already has several authorized importers in Shanghai and Beijing.)
Would love to visit your operations, and I expect I'm not the only Shanghai denizen who would!
cheers!
Hi,
We are offering a multi-brands experience under one roof. Besides a couple of Beemer models, we also get some special babes from KTM and more on the way.
We can basically supply anything you want.
Busa is not in stock but can be ordered.
Just give me a ring when you want to drop by.
At this stage, soft opening only.
Greetings,
DAVID
Saw this new LEGAL import offering by Honda in China ... and the address is just around the corner from me! Dangerous to my pocketbook!
http://www.honda-motorcycle.com.cn/import/st1300.html
I tried one of these a few years ago along the Oregon Coast (USA). I have a Gold Wing back home & a buddy has one of these - we swapped in one direction. The ST1300 is a very, very nice bike. If I was doing it again, I'd get the ST1300 (for a Honda).
I heard a rumor from a pseudo-credible source that Honda is going to be introducing the GW into China soon ... but, we all know about rumors in China.
Found this on 58.com while looking for something else. Not sure about the plate.
