Yea but they still are pretty cool. Very west coast though I dont see much of a market in the east coast were I am.

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Interesting that you couldn't see a market in the east, but then again, I am not a person who can keep up with trends! :confused1: I see them gaining a cult following, and as cool rentals in beach tourist towns. :riding: I do think they are a little pricey considering the available DF and the CCW bobbers, though, and especially considering CCW are generally a dealer sourced bike vs. mail-order. If CCW are earning a profit at $3,200, I can only imagine what these guys make per bike assuming the $4k price-point :eekers::eekers: :deal:

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
The CCW heist costs no more then $1200 to produce and I might be going on the high end there.
-
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
There are a lot of costs running a wholesale business such as CCW and a retail store to sell the bikes. Plus CCW has to pay for all the fancy photo shoots.:lol8:
Gardo,
You are buying direct from PIT motors. Does that means that PIT is competing with their dealers? If so then that will not go over good with their dealers.
-
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Pit is the direct line to the east cost, they get to say who can be a dealer or not over here.
I think they have some type of investment into it as well. The only way to get the cost of the bikes down would have been for them to buy them in bulk, I figure no less then 100 at a time. Even then your looking at a running cost of lets say $100,000 for just the bikes alone another $10k in shipping/port charges. Also lets not forget it took them 10 months to get DOT/EPA Approved. I'm sure the costs were way up there just to get up and running, I'm sure you have to factor in plenty of other things. They did get a lot of press with this bike so I'm sure its selling like crazy and especially at $3,200 even if they are making $1k per bike they still double their $. It really makes you wonder on how much they can really be paying per unit when kikker was and still is selling their bikes for $2,000 only thing is they are not DOT/EPA and a lot of other issues with the kikker.

I am getting it direct from PIT but they called the local dealers while I was there and explained the situation, that they wanted to handle this themselves. They normally direct you to their local dealers in your area

Good for them to call. One company starting selling direct over the net and that caused a lot of friction. Most and maybe all of their dealers dropped their bikes. I sure would have.

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
I went down to my local dealer last Saturday, checked it out, was a little cold for me to test ride, but I am going down tomorrow and giving it a run. If all checks out, I will be getting it. Found a decent sounding exhaust for it as well.

and a clip with someone that has it. Sounds not bad.

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
On those exhaust, do you need to play with jetting? Was thinking the shorty as well, still a bit undecided, but need bike first anyway. If all feels good tomorrow will by then, guy said it was 3695 I believe, shipped and assembled. Id rather assemble it myself with a couple buddies on a afternoon so think Ill work that in, saves the money for the exhaust.

ok got some info on the short pipe it has a high pitch sound because its the same diameter has the header. Also requires rejetting the main
-
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
I assumed it would, just was not sure, emailed the guys with the exhaust and still have not heard anything back. On the video the long did have a higher pitch then that of the low grumble of the stock, may just looking into some gutting like you were talking about. Well back to work. You still waiting on scooter depot to give you your money back?

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
I got black. It was a short test ride since it was maybe 37 out. And I left my gloves at home but was cruising along and a BMW bike went by and snapped his head around to look. Thanks for all the info. Now if it will only warm up more.

So when are you taking delivery and is the dealer getting the tags for you?
-
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
I'm picking it up from the dealer Saturday in the crate. They said it will have the title I'll have to register n inspect. Going to put it together over the weekend.
-
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
bck,
Bet you are excited to get your new Heist. Is it not available in the white or ivory that is shown on the CCW site?
I like the all black myself on the old school bikes.
Please take photos during the assemble process to aid others who might want to DIY and save the dealer prep. I prefer to get the bike in the crate and put it together myself.

I'm with you about the black but stock its a glossy. Nothing a wet 400 and a rattle can can't fix though
Bck - remember the pics man take lots and lots of pics

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Will have tons of pics n video. I'm gunna leave the paint for now later on will be changing to a flat black more than likely. Or at least something that looks more rustic.

I read that and thought ... 37 degrees?!?!? Warm up more?!?!?!?! :eekers:
Oh right, you use Fahrenheit in the USA ... I was thinking 37 Centigrade, and wondering what sort of guy thinks 37 degrees C is too cold :lol8:
Those are really cool bikes - and probably much less common than BMWs, for now.

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Hi guys, lots of good info on this board! Good choice on the Heist... I've been very happy with mine. Here is a vid of the long exhaust, I just installed last weekend. The bike totally rips with it, you can feel the diff over the stock pipe. It sounds great, more chopper than dirt bike. A bit hard to capture in the vid though.
