hey guys i have the same bike ...im havin som issues with my headlights burning up anybody can help me out..im new to this website
you mean they dont work? If I were you send the bike back asap or sell it while you still can!!!! But yeah the lights burn up fast because there is soo much vibration, simple as that
any auto parts store can sell u a car high/low sealed beam headlight that fits in the housing (its what i did) , you will need to buy and splice in the socket that goes with it
hehe posted this 4-5 times in 4-5 topics in past week :p
the china bulbs are junk I went thru about a dozen be4 just bought car sealed beam , not 1 issue since
Hey thanx i been to every parts store in the area..none have the same bulb or socket..wtf i feel retarded tjat i cant figurr this out..ok ..please dan how can i do wat u did. Alittle more in depth please ..now there is theae halogen bulbs i to there now 35 wat...and the lens cover gets so hot u can fry an egg please help
take your headlamp (what your socket plugs into, the plastic headlamp lens) off the bike and into auto parts store with ya , ask for a car sealed beam of that size and the socket to go with it
splice in the new socket , plug up new headlamp , ride till tires fall off
hey dan thanx 1 last thing in the auto parts all i find is 65 /55 watt????..
what size watts should i get
pick n choose what u want but I were u I'd stay below 80w just to be safe on the wiring
with me the store I visited only had only carried 1 type of seamed beam that fit and all at the same wattage 55 , works well though seems to be nearly double the visability of the 35w bulbs
Cool done deal i git 55wat seems good but the front lens seems to be gettin real hit ..ill c tommorrow wen i get to work ..40 min..ride..di ur lens get real hot to..im scared its gonna melt it..lol
thats the thing , car sealed beams are GLASS , they fit inside the assembly and replace the plastic lens , so they CANT melt
Oh ok ..i didnt c the same shape light tho...ok i geuss ill have to keep an eye on until i dind the glass lens. Dam.ok
found the box for the sealed beam that fits - its a , Sylvania H5006
get that and the plug that goes with it to splice in
ask at counter even if not in stock they might get it within hours
I am pretty sure that the two of you have different bikes…..that bulb is not going to fit in the bike.

The bikes parts list….http://www.scooterdepot.us/parts_htm..._list.html#f22
Your not going to find a sealed beam auto headlamp for that bike,

I would think you just take out the bulbs and match them with better quality ones? You just have to match the base, H3,H4...H7 whatever it is.

the sealed beam for a car I listed indeed fits my dong fang , about a 5 1/2" round and fits into the metal case the plastic lens fits in (save the retainer ring its what holds the sealed beam inplace)
and I did say just carry your plastic lens into store for correct sizing
I tried finding just bulbs , but the cost of motorcycle bulbs and there sockets lost out to low cost car parts that fit
This is one Dongfang

And this is another

If you touch a halogen bulb it will not last long, the oil on your fingers will cause it to heat up and fail. It has to be installed with a clean soft cloth. You might also consider adding some rubber bushing to any mountings in the assembly to absorb vibrations?
the dong fang bobbers original bulb is nearly the size of a houshold bulb , and believe its incandessant and not halogen , the bulbs are so cheaply constructed ive had them delivered with the bottoms already falling off
went thru about 14 be4 put in car sealed beam
indeed if im mistaken on the bike he will need cough up the extra dough for motorcycle bulb/sockets
Yeah he may have to replace the socket to one that will take the better bulb, the two bikes only share the engine displacement, but the engine cases are even cast differently, so the bikes likely share very little. That is one of the reasons the bobber is so popular, it very basic and all in plain view.
So then it is all about taking the nose apart and then matching the socket and bulb into it, adding some rubber washer were possible to absorb some vibration. The vibration is likely caring up from were the plastic attaches to the frame under the engine? It looks like they have insulating washer on the screws but there are also two seams up to the nose, if those carry a vibration it could raise or intensify the frequency off the engine.
hello i am new on this site and its great to find people that have this same bike just bought the d250rtc and i can not find and performance parts or mods please help me out i just bought a smaller rear sprocket hoping to increase my top speed without bogging it down if you know anything about this please help thanks and one more thing will any halogen bulb fit in this bike if so what size
Just put my new DF 250 RTC together and charged the battery. It cranks and seems to want to run but dies pretty quick. Do new ones generally need some carburetor attention before the first ride? I just recently took a motorcycle riders class so I am a newbie. Maybe the choke?
Not sure if it was this model, but I do remember reading about a choke lever that was backwards -- you think you are reducing the choke but actually are increasing it. In other words, what you think should be the "choke off" position is actually the "full choke" position.
By the way, welcome to MCM! I just realized this was your first post!
