Cheers,

i can't .... will be back in China after 20th May. :-(
Thanks!
Clubhouse came along very ssssslllllloooooowwwwwllllllyyyyy - the contractor (or his workers) was either on holidays or busy on our neighbor's building (whose roof flew off during that violent winter storm we had in Feb). Nevertheless, progress is being made (will update pics soon). My partner is a bigwig movie guy who is away at Cannes right now, leaving me in charge ... hahahahaha ... time to get the painter to redo the place in a Hello Kitty motif! He asked that I finish off the kitchenette/bar area while he is gone, so I need help from you and Chef-Jeff.
What's the big news? Or do we have to wait?
I am in. Either location is fine with me. What time?
I took the liberty of texting a few folks ... Kro's @ 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15. Thanks again Marty!
U guys ok with that?
BTW, forget about my Italian companion - ain't going to happen in the near future - I'm sticking to homemade spaghetti-Os for now.
Count me in. Haven't been active on the forums in ages, but I'd love to join.
Wednesday @ 19:00 @ Kro's is fine!
Good food, good people ... hours of bike talk ... another success!
A very special thanks to Marty for opening up his restaurant - after all these years, still the best damn pizza in Beijing. But we never found out about his "big news" ... as Marty couldn't attend ... leading to our speculation:
1) He got married; and/or,
2) He's not really a guy; and/or,
3) He's pregnant; and/or,
4) All of the above.
Voting resulted in # 4, above, being selected as Marty's "big news"
Sorry I missed it, things are kind of hectic right now, I'm opening a small cafe and coffee roaster site. And still working with Kros Nest has kept me really slammed. Meeting myself coming and going some days, and yesterday was one of those days.
Hope u guys had a good time and we should schedule one at my new shop when it's ready
SnD
Yes I'm a guy, and yes I'm getting married. I'm a very lucky man on all accounts. No she's not pregnant, but we have been practicing furiously for almost two years. The wedding is in September and I hope u guys will come for the party and wish us well. Glad to help out, it's the least I can do for a great group of people. Glad to know u all. Goodnight
SnD
Great news! Congrats on all fronts! Definitely attend in Sept - no question. And "keep up" the practicing ... after the little one(s) arrive, such fun will be but a fond memory.

Dear Beijing comrades,
I'm in Beijing for a couple days and will pitch up at Back Alley on Tuesday evening at the appointed hour. Seems the regular meeting time is at best a low-grade buzz, but I'll be happy to raise a glass to anyone who shows up!
Cheers!

Hey, is the topic still alive? Any plannings for the upcoming holidays in BJ?
Hi - there may be a get-together at the Back Alley Bistro on Tuesday night - don't know, as the last several Tuesdays have been cold & wet. Best to walk/take taxi, as parking around there (even for bikes) is difficult. Same problem we had at Kro's. If you're there early enough, you'll find a place for your bike where (hopefully), nobody toys with it, or moves it.
Else, there are usually several rides happening depending on your mount. Scooters, Sport Bikes, Cruisers, Dual Sports, Dirt, Street bikes, and so on. Lots more info can usually be found on the Chinese websites (e.g., motorfans), often specific to bike type, and even model. Dealers often organize rides, as well.
