Sorry, maybe I miswrote my earlier post. I have no suspicion of BMW blocking Honda.
More like those Thai made bike prices are just high enough and the oddball model selections omitting bikes that should be hugely popular for import seem to be too strange to make sense, at least to me. There must be something going on behind the scenes, because what seems to be going on would be exactly what the likes of Zongshen, Shineray, Loncin and Jialing would want. Just keep those Japanese bikes out of reach, keep the Chinese bikes a temptation, by artificially keeping the prices sweet, keep those 250-400cc dual sport models out where possible. Make sure any other imported bike is 100% to 50% more expensive than a Chinese similar competitor. Those guys probably lose sleep over 'what if people could but a CB500X for 50,000 RMB, or a CRF250 for 30,000, shit we'd lose all our market share'.
China export shit loads of "shit " to Thailand and Thailand would love to export more to China I am sure behind the scenes the Thail government is saying to China " come on guys be fair let our bikes in!" IMO things will start to happen this year ! Loads of new roads bridges are being constructed in the north of Thailand to connect Thailand/ Loas / China I for one is holding back and waiting to see how this develops before I look at a new bike . One things is guaranteed I will not buy a Chinese made bike again regardless of how good reviews are posted on MCM . Took me 4 years to lean you "can't polish a turd "
So to all you guys with Chinese bike and I still have 2 !! turds left I wish you luck and good polishing lol
Is it possible to register these CQR crap? Then i would buy one of this, register it, buy a real CRF, trash the CQR and "align" the CRF numbers ......
That's you're call however, that is !llegal. Accordingly there is a guy in bejing that registers them, although. A few sellers said they can not plate them, but one guy in Beijing said he could. He's probably going down a similar route as what you're thinking maybe you could contact him? He's on taobao, only guy selling the CRF in Beijing. If you need I'll try find his number for you.
Josh,
If you could send me his number or TaoBao Link by PM would be absolutely great!!!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Lets see what we can make out of this information. I will check the place and try to get a deal there.
Keep u updated
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Ben.
I've just been to a shop that has the CRF250. He had one there and was offering a order service from Thailand. The bikes take 5-10 days to come.
Everything was covered and he said foreigners can legally apply for the Shanghai plate for this bike. He said you can apply for it yourself or he can help you to do it, it's your call. I asked about insurance, he said he didn't know about the insurance for this bike but he can find out :rolleyes1:
Anyway, with a Shanghai Plate it sets the bike into much bigger price but hey ho if he can get the plate in my name with all the correct frame numbers etc then I am set on getting one.
I take my test next month, so I'll see what happens when I've got my license.
Josh
so what was the price of that bike? without the plate of course
same price as in Europe (Poland at least)
Not bad
Thought I would pipe in here , my 2015 CFMoto 650nk has just clocked 8.5k in 4 months , 2 services done and it has not missed a beat , just keeps going stronger every day , I do about 80km a day to and from work , 50/50 rural and city riding .
The only thing that has happened is the Tacho has 'Frosted ?' on the inside of the glass , its being replaced as I type this , no questions asked , and in a week of me reporting it to the bike shop . This in no way affects the bikes perfofmance but it looks terrible ! .
I have said this before us CFMoto owners here in Perth Australia seem to get very good after sales service , I cant be happier with mine .
Oh yes I payed $5999 aud , the last one at this very special price sold here , free CFMoto jacket , gloves and helmet
Brian.
