Yo Tank... I REALLY dig the scenery in your neighborhood!!! What's that mountain in the background?
That's gotta be some sweet riding out there!

That is Mt Rainier. It looks further away in the photo then it actually is. (I can drive to the backside of Rainier in 45 min)
I use my China bike almost exclusive in the Cascade Mtns on the logging roads and trails because it is light and handles the trails well. I also have a DR650 that I use for commuting to work or longer logging road rides.
My buddy has an XR200 and this photo was taken last summer on one of our rides.

Sigh, makes me pine for Tibet. Anywho, count your blessings!

Here are a few pics of our Galaxy XTR250 in Angkor:naughty:
Franki,
Definitely consider starting a new thread for this! I can move this post if you'd like.

P.S. - How'd you manage to get the bikes onto the grounds at Angkor Wat? You just pretend to be a local?
CC
It's pretty easy to ride through Angkor, just purchase a pass for entry and if they don't let you in the front gate, ride around to the other side of the park. The guards don't usually care about the motorcycle, they are more interested in collecting the rather steep entrance fee. Haven't been since 2008, but it was something like $40.00 USD for the 3 day pass. Not sure how much longer they will let people roam freely, as the temples are really taking a beating from the tourists climbing all over them.
Cheers!

No time to make a trip report yet. Just wanna post a few photos to show our XTRs.
Ankor stopped tourist going in by motorcycles for a while. Our friend who was 3 days ahead of us got stopped and had to ride a Tuktuk in. Tuktuks are more poluting then our bikes so I can't see any reason based on environment issues. Just another trick to take your money, I guess. I did a re-con the day before we bought the passes so we know what the situation is. We spent 3 full days riding around Ankor but never once did our wheels touch the temple's structure. Its falling apart for sure. Go see it before it becomes a pile of rock.

Mirror mod, 2" of foam removed from seat, 44 tooth rear sprocket.
1300k so far with no issues! Loving the bike so far!!
Spaz, can't see your picture... Glad you like your bike. I like mine very much too, 1100km with no issues and one mod: removed the rubber thingy of the gear changing lever. Your mirror mod in other thread is interesting though.

So far the Electric starter gave in, the kick starter lever bent, shock seals blew out, rims buckled.
What we did:
Replaced front and rear shocks, replaced rims with aluminum units, removed half the unnecessary electric switches - only has kill switch and starter button.
The engine is a star, keeps up with the Japanese stuff on the trails and outruns them on straights, with correct sprocket configuration.:naughty:
After the shock changes I could chase the jap stuff on the MX track and take medium jumps.
I've been spending quite a bit of time exploring the back roads of Eastern Oregon this summer on my 07 Lifan 200 GY5. Took a 250 km ride yesterday with a friend who has the same model. Mine now has 18,700 km and the engine has never missed a beat.
