Thanks Scootdog! I might have a local leather shop take a stab at the stock seat, re-cover it and add a BUNCH of padding, Im thinking of like a Rough textured light brown leather, and get a matching tool roll for the front.........HMMMM!!
I know Bob said He had ordered at least two more bikes that should be there on Thur?
Reminds me of Judas Priest
And now I'm reminded of this:

That's the seat I'm running. Big improvement. Though it is does have more padding, the slight kick up in the back is what makes it for me. Bolts right on using the stock brackets. Weighs far more than the CCW seat though.
Here it is with a test fitting of 3" traditional springs

Just hopping in here to say hello. Been a long time car guy (VW's/Volvos) but I am interested in getting into the bike game now that I don't have any project cars to work on. Thought I would start with a CCW Heist to get in the game. There are a couple for sale a few miles away from me and I am itching to get one.
I hail from Manchester, NH. My dad has been in the motorcycle painting business for over 30 years (Fitsys Custom Paint) and has been riding for over 40 years. I've never had an interest until recently so I am hoping this is a new passion I can share with my dad.
I am working my way through the 64 pages of info and insight here, but I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from all of you!
Adam
Adam welcome to the madness questions are always welcome, and you may even get a few right answers too. There is another Heist Rider Here from NH, and no I wont ask if you know him :lol8:)
Nice! Thanks for the warm welcome, Gardo. I seriously can't wait to get my hands on one of these and start working on/riding it. I have a Volvo I am trying to sell at the moment. The wife said "Once that car is sold, you're more than welcome to put a bike in the garage." I am holding her to that.
Glad to hear another NH rider on here. I am sure I will be looking for people to ride with soon.
Adam
welcome Adam, let us know if you have any questions we can answer
Welcome Adam. I'm not too far for a ride sometime.
I held my wife to it as well. A few years ago she starts with the time to have a second kid business. I said yeh and I want a motorcycle.
Our little firecracker just turned two on July 4. I got the Heist after watching it develop for over a year. Wouldn't trade either one of 'em, though they both have their moments lol.
Hey guys haven't posted in a while, been so damn busy so not much riding. I put on some new bars that the Weave gave me, cut em nice and narrow and put on some old white BSA grips. I had to raise the bars a bit for clearance with the cables so I rigged up some home made risers with a longer bolt and some big fender washers for about 7 bucks. Removed the front fender and got rid of those hideous front signals, cleaned up the front nicely. Next up is chopping that rear fender and a bunch of other stuff.
I had a problem with bike not pulling too good so I loosed up the gas cap and she pulls a lot better, thanks for the tip Gardo! I need to drill out the cap or get a new one. Here's a few pics:

JK3 a 5/64 drill bit will do the trick I have the photo just need to up load it. did it for my buddy Matt and his bike was riding great on Monday
The bike really looks good man
Thanks guys, yeah Gardo that pic would be great. Still not sure where to drill this thing. I'm assuming one hole in the bottom but the other one I'm not sure about.
I got a vented cap from ccw. And they had the hole drilled on bottom and for the top they drilled into the textured part around the side where you grip to take the cap off

Gardo thanks for the offer, I'll just drill my cap when I get home. So the pic that MK2 posted is what I have to do?
What's up Heisters? It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since I paid for my Heist. I gotta say I'm jealous of y'all, I've been by the shop to sit on my ride but I haven't even heard it run yet since my dealer tore the engine down as soon as it showed up to ship to Tom for his mojo. My carb and head should be back tomorrow and then I'll only be waiting on the cables for my apes. Do y'all recommend drilling out the gas cap right away to avoid performance issues or waiting to see if it's needed?
