Bike finally came today! Woo Hoo! Had a broken shift linkage arm but there was still enough thread left to use until I can get a new one sent. One problem though. I cant get it started. Im not familar with these carbs so I have no Idea how to get this thing going. HELP!!!!
Check the pet cock, kill switch and give it some choke
Nevermind! Guess I jumped the gun. Once I found out which way the choke was on it started right up! :icon10:
Ok, Got her running good and took her around the block. I love it! Really glad I bought this bike! Took the front fender off and it makes a world of difference with the look. I got lucky and got one that has all blacked out equipment. I think I'm gonna keep it silver and pretty stock since everything blends in so well. Got to get rid of those butt ugly red stripes and that God Awful seat. All in all though, I'm one happy camper!
Carolina, consider a different rear sprocket. It makes a big difference, and it's a simple change. If you are changing gears half way through an intersection because 1st gear is so low, it's a good indication to change the rear sprocket.
I will eventually I'm sure. I'm a pretty big guy at 6'1" and 225 so I may not go as far down as some to keep a liitle more bottom end. Well I took te stickers off which in turn took some paint off so bye bye silver. But instead of flat black I;m going with flat gray. Picked up some gray primer to use. Also went ahead and ditched the turn signals. Hopefully I can post some picks tomorrow.
Does removing the signals on this bike effect the other lights. I have break lights but no tail light in rear and small light in front but no main light. Got it insured today and was hoping to go riding some this evening until I noticed this
Did you trace the wires back and remove them or terminate them? The other lights shouldn't be affect the other lights. I removed them to paint the rear fender, and they are wired separately. It's pretty easy to pull the rear wires to the oil can (where the electrical components are stored) and remove them. I made changes to the headlight without doing anything to the front turn signals.
the bulbs cant take the rattle that the bike give em , put an LED in rear and get a car sealed beam to replace the very cheap china headlamp bulb
