What you keep calling a gasket is the aluminum plate that goes over the gasket to block the SAI port. You can use the gasket as a pattern make the plate. I made my plate out of 1/8" aluminum and placed it over the gasket to cover the hole. Removing that smog pump will have no affect on the engine's fuel mixture. The engine should run a little cooler.

I changed my DF's main jet to a 100 and added a washer under the needle. Plug color is good.

Yes, you can adjust your carburetor like is suggested above but the right thing to do is to take the bike back to them and have them adjust the carb. Mainly to save someone else from having this problem in the future.

Unfortunately it's not practical for me to take it back for something "minor", it's an hour each way and highway riding, which I'm not particularly fond of on a bike, especially that area, lots of idiots driving.

Alright Boners. I popped in a 42 pilot / 102 main today and documented the whole shizbang. Oh and if someone who actually knows what's going here sees something totally wack, let me know and I'll fix it. I like the 42/102 (runs strong) but I keep hearing about this 105. Nice write up. Might I add that you should check the accelerator pump to make sure it still works after you put the bowl back on.

Just yesterday I actually looked into what the heck this thing is. It's a godsend is what it is. Especially in traffic.

I see you updated your PZ30 jet change procedure to make sure the accelerator pump is still working. Good job.

I might have missed it but where did you get the pilot jets for your version of the PZ30? I never did find a pilot jet source for my Denzi PZ30. I'm still running the 40 in my DF which seems to be fine with one washer under the needle.

The DF came with a 88 main which was way too small (EPA) and the 100 seems good for me. I do have a 105 that I might pop in when I get back to Florida but here in NC I running up to 5k feet in altitude sothe 105 would be too rich.
