Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
This may sound stupid... but pull the air cleaner off and just confirm the operation on the manual choke (butterfly to lever position).
I only mention this because most new motorcycles come from the factory calibrated on the LEAN side and you mention a rich condition.
A vacuum leak will make it even more lean. The air induction has NO effect on the performance of the engine, unless it has a vacuum leak.
Its purpose is to continue the exhaust burn inside the exhaust pipe, hence the extra heat. It is an emission thing.

Got it. Went through the manual you sent me and was going to go adjust the carb today, but woke up to freezing ice and snow. I dunno I may still head out to the garage and mess with it. Thanks again for the manual I think it will help a ton! I Think I may have just the bracket for the engine that I picked up from the shop and its already chrome plated.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Also, after reading more of this thread here are some easy fixes.
Broken clutch cable:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...H9RHS2JVCEEQGG
http://www.amazon.com/Tri-Flow-Trifl.../dp/B003UWHNUA
Remove old cable from housing, run some triflow down inside the housing to make it pull smooth as glass. Insert new cable into old housing and run into the clutch mech at the engine. Install cable knarp and take out slack. Cut off remaining cable and its good as new. You can carry these items in your tool roll in case of emergency.
Leaky wheels:
http://www.amazon.com/Stans-No-Tubes...stans+no+tubes
This works best with the wheel removed. Remove valve core, insert 1/4 cup into the valve and re-install valve. Inflate to proper pressure and roll the wheel from side to side to fully coat the inside of the wheel. If you have a leak you will notice some coming out but it will seal itself. This is'nt slime, it's a coagulating latex sealant that we use in high end mountain bikes. This is also self sealing so if you hit a nail no flat! Hope this helps :riding:

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Well Dan if you must know I'd prefer not to give up my secret. But, since it was you that I stole the idea from it's a 1 1/4" chrome plated brass J-pipe from under the bathroom sink (new, unused). Both ends cut off to attach the rubber bracket with hose clamps. I'll get a better pic today and post it. Those pics were under a light in the garage.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Attempted to do the ignition mod today. Well, I found out the bracket isn't an exact fit. Anyone got any help for me? Or, the page that this mod is discussed on?

Tank is ready to go on, at this stage I am running with thundercats decal. The ivory is gloss and the grey is satin. I have included pic of tunnel to show mounts added to make it a direct fit.
