Re: Jialing Honda Benly CB50
These horizontals are all “Starts in any gear” what is that all about? Probably not very practical for a street bike? The gear ratios could that be altered for street use. It seems that the high demand for these pit bike brought about some refinements for that market and none that really are cross marketable for street bikes.
So its not likely to see anyone develop a horizontal of bigger size and power for street use, they will likely stay very small and affordable and very fuel efficient, the later seems to be what most people that want cheap transportation desire.

WRONG! you could always buy a Japanese hi-po engine from Kitaco, Takegawa, Daytona, etc. and they do a supercharged engine now.....
Another option, custom build a Honda Nice 110cc (Thailand) engine (110-180cc / 4-valve optional) with high performance parts, see pics of one of my custom build engines (154cc / 5-speed) attached as reference....

This one looks like a standard Zongshen, with a upper engine a-la Kawasaki KLX and, also standard, 2 valve head. All horizontal motors can be equipped with oil coolers.

Here's a link with an explanation what are SIG and non-SIG motors - http://www.pitbikeclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7733

Or, option No.3: buy for half the money needed for the Japanese or custom build engine, Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone in good condition.
You know, I am absolutely convinced that we need to start a thread dedicated to horizontal engines. Who is going to "break the ice"?
