Yeah so just over 68 miles, @ 60+ mph after a 6hr Tattoo session on My right arm= NO FUN!! I want the comfort of a soft tail or air ride, however I love the look of the springs! Hmmmm...... What to do??
Thatas what I was thinking! Gardo I have over 150hrs of ink so posting pics ofMy tat isnt easy LOL

itryguy - can you post close up picture or tell in detail how you mounted the rear turn sigs. up by the seat? I have something mocked up but it doesnt look that great...
Sure will buddy Ill get a pic as soon as Im home.
I will get pics when I get home, I relocated My turn signals up by the seat so that My plate & taillight being axle mounted wouldnt block it. There were holes thru the frame on either side under the seat by the spring mounts, so I basically bent a piece of steel into a "L", bolted it onto the frame, bolted My lights onto the brackets, and shortened up the wires. It was VERY easy and straight forward, and I didnt have to drill into the frame at all. Pics later.
itrguy - you had the same idea as I did, especially the reason for moving the turn sigs. That is basically the exact thing I have now but I didn't know if there was a cleaner way to do it. I also used some scrap metal that IMO is too thick (1/8") so may just mill it down and make some new ones. Thanks for the pics though
Thanks Scootdog! Yeah Bob moved shops, Hes now in Crystal lake off of rt31 in the old Banzaii Motosports building. Ill have to check out the facebook thing. So how many miles You put on the bike? Have You done anything to it yet? Im at like 1843km right now. I get soo many compliments on My bike its Hillarious!! Be safe.
Thanks and you also! Hopefully Bob updated his site - I remember his shop hours were wrong on there. Honestly I have not put a lot of miles on the bike yet, got off to a VERY rocky start right after buying it - work/life/wife balance stuff. This past Tuesday was actually my longest run, and man do I love it! Now that I'm getting time to ride of course the weather is starting to getting shotty. The few times I've been out I've gotten quite a few questions/compliments. I was at a light and a guy on a dyna rolled up very close to me, except he was leant way over with his head down inspecting the bike mumbling 'WTF is that??' Needless to say he really liked it. Only things I've done so far is a West Eagle solo seat swap (I think Gardo's suggestion of the airbag or even a kidney belt will help more). I've got tons of ideas of what I want to do - now to find the time and $ to do it!!! At least I know come spring I'll be in a better position than this season.
Couple months back I'm at a light and a guy pulls up on his bagger, a road king I believe, gives me this look and says "What a Cute little bike and forces a laugh, and asked what is it?" I told him flat "Unique" and pulled away. I heard his buddy laugh at him as i went
Ha ha - awesome response Gardo! And couldn't be more true!
Hey is anyone else having any issues w the Battery?? I took off my batt box to paint it, and the batt was all swelled out on the ends, yesterday the batt started acting up, so I called Bob and left a msg to see if they cover that under warranty?? Unacceptable as far as Im concerned! Shitty China Battery!!

After several months of drooling over this bike and finding the best price I purchase a 2011 model from Harley Davidson Los Angeles last week. First Heist sold at a Harley Dealer in southern California and possibly all of California.
This is my first bike ever, and I rode it home the 38 miles to my house. I had gone to DMV the morning before and picked up my permit, went to the dealer and purchased the bike. Because it was the first it wasn't prepped yet so I had to wait a day.
What an experience riding home. Loved every minute of it!!! The guys at Harley were great, gave me some pointers, let me ride it in the parking lot to get comfortable and called me 2 hours later to be sure I made it home safe.
I wouldn't recommend this to just anyone, I've been around atv's, atc's, minibikes and bmx most of my life. So I was fairly confident.
Anyway I have put 50 miles on my bike in the last week around town. Plan on commuting to work after I'm fully licensed next month and taking a safety course.
So now I have a question: when I start to throttle to higher speeds I get a loud clank from what seems like the gas tank. It sounds as if there is something smacking up against the tank. It is not consistent at all and only occurs at around 40mph sporadically. I have gone over the bike to see if there is anything that is loose causing the clank and all appears fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to figure out what this is or experience with this type if noise?

Welcome to the forums and congrats on the scoot she is a bute. I think you are the first in SoCal there are a number of other Heist Riders up in NoCal. The Heist is a great Bike and moreso for being a first bike.
I must say that the dealer was pretty cool for calling and checking upon you it's a nice touch.
I commend you on taking the Motocycle safety course, even with some experience it will prove helpful.
I invite youth also check out our Facebook group Khttps://www.facebook.com/groups/ccwthariders/ lots of riders on there and a few from CA as well.
Now on to your question the clank you mentioned it happens at over 40mph does it sound like something hitting the tank or the inside?
Again welcome and great introduction
Gardo
Sweet, first one in SoCal!!! Love it!
The dealer was very cool, wants me to keep them posted on the bike, how it does, and come back to them if there are ANY problems whatsoever. They are very interested in moving these out the door and capturing a slightly different market.
They also were very complimentary on CCW sales and service team, mentioning that they used to be able to communicate directly to the top brass at HD by name and can no longer do so, and it was nice to be able to at CCW.
Gardo, I have followed yours and others post here over the last couple of months and truely appreciate everyone's entries, photos, clips, your bike and especially everyone's willingness to offer help.
As to the "CLANK", I couldn't really tell you if the noise is coming from within or outside the tank, I'm not even sure it is occurring at the tank. It is difficult to anticipate it, listening and looking while riding. i know this isn't very helpful but any input would be appreciated.

David,
Lets do some trouble shooting. Does the clank happen when shifting? Is the front fender on tight?
Check the front and back brakes there is supposed to be a barrel nut on the floating caliper on the front and back. Check if they are on there. I may have a pic somewhere if you need one
Hey Guys, My bike sometimes makes a similar noise. Its more so when Im in a higher gear at low RPMs, accelerating hard. I thought it was maybe the chain hitting the rear fender and dismissed it, however I kinda think the noise is coming from the trans area?? Lets figure this out!
No that's def the chain hitting the fender. I forgot since I put the new chain on that it used to do that when it would scretch.
Would makesence that that's the no ice being heard. He'll we all have pheard that sound at some point
Best way to tell is check the rear fender and look for the chain marks, it's a known issue with that 2 ways to fix it. 1 align the rear tire again or 2 upgrade to a 428did heavy duty chain
Well, I guess the marred fender at the near the bottom of were the chain returns would potentially indicate this as the source of the clank?
It's sporadic, not only during changing gears, etc. etc....
Guess I'll check your two options out and get this taken care of. Hope thats it. I'll keep you posted, thank you.
