thats a long L visa then. you cant get a driving license on an L visa, you can get a temp driving license but not a full one. also I remember someone on here saying that you cant get a temp motorbike license.

OK, my friend who showed me the nicely bound 500 rmb drivers license question bank told me his assistant found it on Taobao using the search phrase 英文交规考试题库2013. Sure enough, this kicks up links (in Chinese) for this book. Looks like this was produced by a visa agent in Shanghai.

With any luck, this will indeed be a standard national question bank. Whether cities across China are required to offer the drivers license test in English remains to be seen.

Not sure that is correct statement.

I also have residence "L" visa, and had no problem for car&bike licence in shandong.
As far as I recollect, it is ANY visa, providing more than 90 days stay.

I took the test in English just a few days ago in Shanghai. I used the Drive in China app to practice and passed no problem.

Maybe English is not yet available in all cities?

First post, and it looks like I hadn't waited for all the post in the thread to load before responding. Sorry for a post that repeated information about tests in English.

The Drive in China is definitely worth checking out though.

really? oh, thank you for letting me know that. In GZ i was told it had to be a Z visa (perhaps just in GZ or perhaps just an annoyed official)
