Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
my point was that i am not removing the tank for a picture.
the bolts are bent on the tank from the assembly line. the tanks are shoved on to make them fit because the bolts and holes dont line up. when you look at it you will see one of the bolts bent over to the side more than the other, i bet that is the one that leaks. they will leak. once it starts thats it. call the place you bought it and get a new tank but dont shove it on to make it work. the holes need to be bigger for the tank to set into place.
i used a drill bit and ground out what i needed with the side of the bit after i let the tank show me where to grind by only setting it on top of the tabs. good luck all

Try and find an old Yamaha xs650 tank , thats what I used. Just need to weld a couple mounting points and it fits straight on

Dan said you can get it kreemed but not sure I want to go that route. My brother said to just have a welder weld a seam around the bolts. Not too crazy about that idea either. I would think this would blister the inside of the tank and cause problems later.
Third party tank is what I really want if I can find one that will drop fit and not cost a fortune.

Got mine today... the 2012 model.
Used extremescooters to drop ship from sunny.
Ordered on tues 5.7, got a call from the thurs 5.9 the shipper calls offering delivery in 7 days... I asked for today 5.17 instead.
Everything in working order, and Cert of Origin was in the box.
So far so good...
more to come.
since this site is pretty keen on pics, here ya go...

So they have gone to a springer front end and what we used to call "Z" bars (put those on an old BSA many years ago).
