Nothing out of the ordinary, but i did have the same tank issue with the studs leaking. I had the dealer send me a new tank and installed it with small rubber washers and not so tight on the nuts. I used nylon nuts. No leaks since. Everything else has been normal maintanance. I love this bike, and it loves me.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
just got back and mine hauls. fast warm up and great low growl with no pop or back . glad to remove the SAIS
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I feel the hand controls are too far out. How can i know what parts will be a direct replacement? Is there a fit number or something?
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
IMO , the air deleat does nuthing but remove the popping on decell
and it is a 125 turned into a 250 , but it still breaths like a 125 , if u inhibit the air flow at all , aka a better air cleaner ur gunna slow down
when its 40-50 degree's out itll run to 80 indicated (if geared for it) , at 90-100 it struggles around 70 , because it cant breath well because the warmer airs thinner
hmmmm , intercooler ? nitrous "drizzel" ? turbo charger ? :O
I would bet with enough airflow , it would compeat with most 250's out there speed wise

so performance wise, whats the consensus on the secondary air injection? scrap it? keep it? or it really doesn't matter much?

Air induction is an emissions thing. Its purpose is to complete the exhaust burn, AFTER the exhaust valve. It raises the exhaust pipe temp and causes a lean (popping on decel) condition.
Removal will do nothing but lighten (less weight) and stop lean popping. Leaving in place will also do nothing for performance (unless it fails re: vacuum leak at carb).

You'll have to find a place that has a lot on hand and try to match something up.
